The only thing I haven't had any luck selling is my old 700 but I guess my problem starts with me only posting in the spring LOL I'll try again this fall and take the track off no sense in giving away a $400 track on a $8-900 sled
What track it is?
I've also had very good luck, even had a guy send me money ahead of time cause he didn't want to spend the gas and time. I especially like the replies that mention they are really not interested in what I have for sale, but that I " sounded interesting and fun in the ad and would like to get together." ***I don't know, I've had very good luck with CL, buying and selling. Yeah, I've come across the "trailer trash" but they are usually pretty quick to identify themselves. You can tell fairly quickly what kind of a person you are dealing with by how the ad is put together, and/or a quick phone conversation.
I also think that goes for EVERY person !reiley99 said:i think every engine has a tick if you listen hard enough..
Dave, I will give you a $100, but you need to wash it, rotate the tires, put a new battery in it, and deliver it to me. Oh and top off the gas tank after you change the oil. And I want all service records and a Lawnmowerfax to see that it has not been in a major colision. I have cash and Fireball on "Tap".
Getting so sick of it. Selling my dads sled a month ago guy claimed it had a tick it had a tick then asked how firm we are on price we knocked $50 off and he ended up buying it anyways. Now we're selling a lawn mower guy looked it over then asked if we were still firm on price and we said yup 1500 no lower and the guy then brought up it had a real bad tick and needs engine work. What is wrong with people these days? If my stuff has a tick its going to get fixed. It feels insulting when clearly there's nothing wrong with it.
The guy came from Madison to look at my shorty seat. I was asking 275 he offered me 225 i said cant go lower than 250. he then offered me 235 i told him nope cant go lower than 250. he preceded to drive all the way back home, 2 hours to madison shorty seatless. 220 miles round trip because he wouldnt go another $15 LOL
Everyone, probably even every poster on this thread, has tried to lower the price on something you are buying. It never hurts to ask.
I just recently bought a sled for my kids, asking price of $1900, said he'd go $1800 on the phone. So I drive up there, and offer $1700, he says $1750, not a dime lower. Himed and hawed with him for about 20 minutes. After I told him I was putting a butt on the seat, not parting it out, he throws in a cover, skid plate, windshield bag, and roller skates. So I took it. We were both happy.
If the guy drove two hours, and wouldn't give you your bottom dollar, he was just looking to make a buck on you and your part. Let him walk, and smile when the next guy pays you what you ask.
Good for you for sticking to your guns. Some idiots are just sooooo dumb. Who drives 220 miles just to go home empty handed over $15 flippin bucks? Crazy! When I drove 6 hrs to get my RMK up in Duluth (12 hrs round trip), they guy knew he had me. Like I was going to go home without it unless it blew up? Even then, I prob would have thrown out a low ball offer. LOL!The guy came from Madison to look at my shorty seat.
