Is this a good deal on a Yamaha Snowmobile? Please help!

The sled is an 05 Yamaha RS Rage. It is a four stroke and it was ridden by a 72 year old lady. It has 11,000 miles which is a lot but it wasnt ridden hard, and remember it's a four stroke. They are asking 4000-4500 dollars and we are looking to trade two of our 2000 Yamaha SX500R which we'd get a total of 3500 dollars so after the trade we would owe 500-1000 dollars on the Rage. Good Deal or Not?

Maybe an even swap no more. 05 Rage was before RA mono shock rear suspensions. A sit in sled for sure & the 05 I rode was cushy if that is what you want. 05 Rage would sell around $3K & sell quickly if in good shape.

My husband thinks in this economy, this sled with that many miles is probably worth max $3000. Your sleds should each bring $1200-$1300. Should be close to being an even up deal 2 for 1. In my opinion.

Thanks that is what I was thinking. It's for my dad and I tried telling him that it's a lot for that sled. They are redoing the exhaust and placing a one year waranty and doing all the maintance before it is placed for sale. Does that make a difference or still too much money??

Sell your sleds outright and buy my friends 06 Rage, candy red, has mono suspension, only 4500 miles. $4800 OBO located in central Wisconsin 920-279-7192 cell

There are quite afew around. Thats pretty pricey for 11,000 miles. Not so much for the engine but for the rest of the sled.

Have you thought about a RX-Warrior? Its just like the Rage but with the 145 hp 4 cylinder. I had one and loved it.

Yeah we looked it over, and he talked to the lady who owned it and they r retired and go to the U.P. every winter and she didnt ride the sled over 65 mph. She is trading it for a brand new vector. The track is still in good shape. They are completely redoing the exhaust and everything else is completely gone through. Sounds like a good sled if it wasnt for the miles, but we know it wasnt ridden hard.

boritzer1234, Lenny emailed me this thread and I just took a 2005 Warrior LE on trade. It's a one owner and it's immaculate with only 1900 miles on it. The price is 4900. This sled can be seen at Pat's Motorsports in Greenland, MI. Ph# is 906-883-3536. Just ask for Kip. I acquired this sled 2 days ago.

the little old 72 yr old lady ridding 3k a year Hmmmmm don't know if I buy that story.I don't care if it is a 4 or not.you will be doing allot of work on a sled with 11k on it all new skid wheels.bearings like jack shaft and driver ext ext.and if you are trading them why would some one who puts on 3k a year want to downgrade to a lesser sled?

That would be a nice sled but its a long drive for a sled. We are between Madison, WI and Minneapolis MN so the snow is limited and we dont put many miles on in a year maybe 2,000 miles most, but we love the sport.

Ezra, I believe you miss understood him. This is a dealer sled, and he will be trading his sleds to the dealer and giving money as well. Little old frail lady with the frail foot that likes SPEED, is trading up for a brand new sled.

Jump on the one KIP has....way better deal...if he will give you the same number of marbles for your trades. That 05 Warrior was a bugs out going machine...but not an off trailer wonder. On trail it will last a very long time with modest maint.

No doubt take the ride & deal with Kip for your trades & 2005 Warrior LE. Much better sled. Just make sure it is still there before you leave. Used sleds move fast at Pat's.

We met with the lady who owned the Rage and she really is old. I couldnt believe it either when I heard it but she just loves riding and goes to the UP and all they do is ride, not fast just go. And yes the dealer has the sled.

No even swap with dealer....won't happen. You keep saying exhaust work. Do you mean donuts or did she break the pipes somehow? 1 year YES warranty left or only warranty from that dealer?
