Is this a problem or normal?

Not a tech expert by any means, so hoping for a little help here. My 2008 600 RMK tends to have a small puddle of oil under it after I run it for a while (dripping from the exhaust). It's not a lot, so it could be completely normal, but thought I better get it figured out before the snow flies. My first thought was possibly a rich condition, but just a guess? Thanks!

some very minor residue is normal, but coulple things to check. They are known for the exhaust bellows to degrade and leak, the bolts to vibrate out and the exhaust bolts to loosen up. After writing this and rereading your post please clarify; out the silencer or around the front of engine.

Pretty normal, where exactly is it coming from? If it's coming from the exhaust valves, you may need new bellows if its coming out from under the y-pipe or out the exhaust in some way thats normal.

Are you referring to running it in the garage or while running it last season? I'm not a Polaris guy but I've heard lots of stories of guys starting and idling their sleds in the garage waiting for snow to fall. Doing this over and over without bringing the sled past an idle will cause a rich condition and possible build up of unburnt oil in the Y-pipe and exhuast.

Did that a little this last summer, and took the plugs out to check, and they were soaking wet and black. Gotta run it a little longer I guess.

Ok, so it sounds like this may be pretty normal. Yes, it's me running it in the garage (can't resist!!!). And coming out of the exhaust tip. The "puddle" is between the size of a silver dollar and a dessert plate.

Two Strokes dont burn the oil well when the motor, and pipe are cold. Idling the sled does not build any significant heat in the motir or pipe compared to running under load at higher RPM. What you are seeing is no big deal if it is coming from the exhaust after idling the sled. Oil is good. Once you get out and ride the sled, the pipe and motor will be burning the oil as it should, and the puddle will go away.

When you need to worry is when you start your sled, and it doesent smoke!
