Funny that you guys mention the key. I thought it was just me. The thing needs some sort of detent to make it easier to find the slot. We often look for a lighted parking spot while riding at night because the key is even tougher in the dark. Cold nights are a real challenge because you need bare fingertips to guide that key.

just keep full coverage on it and dont worry about the key it will only take a guy 8 more sec to take it with out the key if he wants it

Not worried about the sled. It is more of a concern to get back to base when we are out 200 miles. Makes for a long walk.;)

Nice sled Lenny.

Now when you tell someone your going to take them out to the wood shed (pile) for a whoopin' they will be more afraid of getting "clawed"!!! :D

ENJOY!!!

That's funny. I thought I was some kind of a moron for having problems with the key. Guess it may not be me after all (does not completely rule out the moron idea though!).

I guess if there is a problem to be had with these sleds, the key being hard to put in is something that is not too difficult to live through.

you got it bob. I'm lucky to have a friend like Bob (byrn71) asking me to go with on his trip. Thanks Bob, you are da man. I tell you the truth, we are gonna have the time of our life. Looks like snow is predicted out there now through tues. I've never been so pumped for a trip. I literally am worse than my 6 yr old boy wanting things.

Kitty needs some scratchers, must have flees. Temp light was on and off. Got tired of that fast and turned around and came home, 13 miles only. The sled does have a good feel and the 800 HO rips. Any mtn riders have some suggestions for a set up for a stock m. Obviously the M is gonna transfer weight better than a trail sled. Any sus settings I should shoot for. Geared up I weight 215

scratchers are on and the temp light stayed off all day (100 miles.) Machine is very responsive. Electronics are fine, reverse works good. hand warmers are good, seat is the best yet with lots of storage. This sled still has the traditional hood on a hinge with side panels that open. Very easy to get to everything. Foot boards are very nice. The only thing I am not sure if I like is how my knees and chins are often up against the machine. I reposition myself back and before I know it I am back up to the machine again. Maybe I need pads on the knee area of the sled. The area is a nice couture for you legs to fit in but if your on the trail and come to bumps suddenly you whack your knees a little. The sitting position is very comfortable other than that. Now, I didn't buy the machine to be sitting down for long but living in da up and heading to riding area can be a few miles so I will need to get pads, should solve my concern. Now the motor,,,,wow is all I have to say. Throttle response is dead on, could not ask for better response. man does the 800 HO pull. I am riding it now with 6-9K elevations weights and helix so she is spinning up fast, Probably gonna be spoiled on the way she revs. I did take it easy on the sled today. I ran 100:1 in the tank as recommended by cat. Half throttle (5-6K rpm) when cruising, pinned er a few short jaunts. Going out again in a few minutes to get another 50 miles. I wanna have the motor running without the added friction of new metals when I put a heavy load on it out west. I don't think I'll get all 400 miles of breaking before Tues but gonna do my best. The smile factor of riding a machine like this is real good. I took it off trail this after noon and started getting comfortable on it. I hit some small jumps and climbed some small stuff. I like the throttle response when lining up to hit a jump, it's right there and you do exactly what you intend to do, no compensating for fuel lag or clutch. My MT max is dialed in pretty good but not like this. Right out the crate the M is so comfortable in many regards. I do need to raise the bars 2 inches and I'll be set. I missed the sno pro m8 from Chads place by 1 day, I am a total procrastinator. Kip over at Pat's has helped me out with some sweet gear. All these McIntyre's are top notch people.

Thanks Chad for a making a deal smooth and very pleasant. You, your brother and dad are highly recommended in my book. I've never experienced better service and concern for customers than these guys.
THANKS!!!!

Lenny, don't worry about putting on the break in miles in the UP too much. There are lots of miles trails to ride in the Bighorns that bring you out to the play areas. I only had about 300 miles on my Rush when we went out last week, and my buddy Keith M, who you probably know from Superior Club had about the same on his new Renegade. Having an 800 like you have, you probably won't have to pin it too much anyway. Have fun and be safe.........don't forget about "Big Mike's Pies"....lol.

Lenny after a couple hundreds miles, try opening it up. I found out on my XF 800 SP Ltd, that the throttle position switch was in the wrong position. She only topped out only at 7800 rpms, not enough to climb the hills your going to climb next week. Another thing, the spark plug caps popped off! Talk about crazy, but I would check them to make sure their seated all the way. My feeling my baby was built on Friday afternoon on Labor day weekend, by a group that was already half in the bag for the weekend. :)

Hey Lenny just get the Klim bibs with the pads in them and you 1) get new bibs and 2) take care of that knee chin issue.

Have fun out west. Looks like it might be hard to get our M's in the woods together this yr but you never know...maybe UP gets 40"+ storm in April. :)
