Hope arm got bent pulling out got hung on brush or something. If bent with head on hit with ski a lot more front end parts are bent too not just trailing arm.:(

Sounds like a direct hit head on ouch!

Wouldn't be surprised if the tunnel is tweaked. Same thing happened on my 01 mxz. Thought it was just trailing arm. Took it to dealer. Insurance co ended up totalling it cuz the tunnel was bent. I was only goin 20 mph.

Don’t panic, my wife can bend steel worse than that with one of her death stares. Yamies got super thin trailing arms. Ebay has them most the time minus stickers for$ 90 to$ 110. Sometimes even in the right colors. Been there.

oh yea, stuff gets bent and you just fix whatcha need to fix. I'll replace the arm, straighten the mount. I drove the sled home 4 miles and it rode straight. I'll disassemble tomorrow and inspect. Kip over at Pat's has one and will remove it from a sled tomorrow for me. Hopefully that's all I'll need. Those trailing arms are designed to crumple at a load rather than trashing the entire front end. The impact did tweak the tunnel mount but I have bent things way worse than this. Us off trail nuts don't need our sleds to be perfect, they're just gonna take a beating over and over. Maybe some guys spend the time and cash to do it right but I am driving a 2000 Mtn Max with 10K miles, basically worth nothing so it's going back together with minimal time and cash. I probably would have a hard time taking a newer sled in the woods KNOWING it's just a matter of time till it smacks something.

yup, I looked there and there are about 60 of them

Kip at Pat's has better prices and no shipping. it's a no brainer. By the way it rode straight on the way home, she'll be good as new tomorrow

Your going about this all wrong Lenny.....

Take off the other trailing arm, and bend it the same way! See??

Now they both pull, torque, swing the same, and that old thumper...heck, you wouldn't know the difference.

BTW, if anyone else had done that to your sled....there would be NO hearing the end of it!

Try to keep this straight.....rocks BAD....trees BAD.....next time follow John and let HIM hit the stuff first....he gets his at discount!

Lenny, it must be worth something if you ride it, and its worth fixing. At least your smart enough not to beat up a new 10G sled.

sure, to me it is worth something. I was making a general statement that a 11 yr old beat up sled has a low value so I may as well keep it and fix it. I have some cash into it. Best boondocking track, simmons ski, riser, ext cables, clutch, gears but usually that doesn't get you much for resale. Honestly, breaking stuff like this doesnt get me down at all. It's the thrill of the ride, the odds of contact are huge off trail and they are worth it to me. Roll on!!!!!

I have a friend who has a new pro rmk, he loves the woods riding, has damage to his sleds, nothing to serious but none the less damage. He can go places I cannot go because his machine rocks. I don't fault him a bit for riding a high quality new sled in the woods. His money, his ride and he loves it as much as anyone, more power to him. If I could afford it I probably would be on a new sled also and bustin it up, it's the inherent risk we take. I don't think it's a matter of smart and dumb, it's more about the love of riding the way you want to ride.

Another perfect example. Them yamaha's, ya just can't gas and go. ;)

lol,,,,you little rat ;)

Well, Nick and his fellow riders went 552 Miles on their Valentine's Challenge Day to honor Nick's mother and all other loved ones who passed away before their time from cancer.

Check out Nick's Snowball Cancer Challenge 2011 at www.snowballcancer.org for all of the details.

Nick ended the day with 39,781 miles on his 2010 RS Vector GT odometer. So what time do you think he will hit 40,000 miles on the odometer tomorrow? Check back for details.

take that Indy,,, 40k on a 2010 Yammi!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That is incredible. Just out of curiosity I wonder what he HAS had to do to the sled as far as breaking anything.
