Hard to get to unless you like running the shoulder for 1/2 mile and crossing with heavy traffic to get to a BARE parking lot that's extremely busy. The spur trail that was across from it wasn't marked and when it was there were fallen trees you had to drive over...

Yes, I agree it's not always easy to get to but the more knowledge you have of the area the better. The gas is in a critical location for me since I ride from Iron Mountain to Big Bay, sometimes over to Gwinn to eat at up north lodge. I can usually get back to my house in Spread Eagle from Koski while traveling back from Big Bay. With Republic a wild card there really isn't any other option for me

DF...I drove out that way a month ago, on my way to Marquette.....took a look at Koski and EF is correct....the spur trail was a mess, many downed trees and lots of construction going on....stopped in for gas and they had no clue about any trail work or plans....came back down 95 and not sure about Republic either.....Maki Mini Mart used to have reg gas only....and Sagola BP is a ditch bang
with the trail closed by landowner.....sure hope things shape up....I miss 5N to Big Bay too....K

Yes it was bad last year too. Wet if I remember correctly and I ended up running along the road a couple hundred feet instead of that little spur trail across the tracks and through the swampy trees. it worked. Time it when there aren't any trucks coming and you are good.

Roughly 250 ish. plus or minus 15-20 miles. that's 2 east to 5 then north all the way to big bay.

Look at fueling in Champion as an alternative to Koskis if you're riding. It's been awhile since I've done it, but as I recall it was pretty painless. And closer to the trail system too - only about 1/2 mile from trail 5 with nice side trail connecting.

I don't think there's gas in Champion any more. We tried to find that side trail into there last year and it was gone. Went to Koski and had to run along the highway.
