Over here in Northwest OH we got about 5" last night. They're calling for 10 more. I'm looking forward to the high winds dying down so I can do some serious ditch bangin!

An old pastime from when I was a kid before I knew what a trail was.

southwest chi-town is gettin it's share. wicked wind and lots of blowin snow. very low visibility out in open ares.

We have a couple of our snowmobiles at the fire stations if it will help going to calls. The snow and wind has picked up. Had lake effect all morning.

Once you got it you got it. ( OSDB ) It was just the way that it was back in the day.

Yup, it sure is. This could be "the big one". The wind is just a howlin out there. Bare ground in one spot, 3 ft drifts just feet away already. Not sure if I should ride to work in the dark and blizzard conditions in the morning or not.

Im downtown Chicago and the winds are crazy, our building is really shaking! We really have nothing stopping the wind from the lake, there is a direct path to our building!

Personally I think the storm is moving way to fast to put down those 20" + totals they were staying, unless some Lake enhancement takes place or there is residual LES in LE Illinois. We will see what happens, but so far the most impressive part has been the wind and not the snow.

Got up this morning and TV forecasters were calling for 12- 20 and snow was gonna start sooner rather than later. Well it sleeted all day and the radar looks like it about over. So from blizzard warning to 2 inches of sleet. What a disappointment.

No snow here yet, south central Wi. I was hoping the 5-8 was going to happen, don't think it is though. :(

Oh well, leaving for the yoop tomorrow! :)

here in peotone we got 7.3 inches so far according to the town website. brother took the sleds to the fire station for calls. wind is nuts

I've been saying for years that I wanted to ride my sled to work just once. Most of the time we just don't get the kind of snow that overwhelms the city's ability to clear it fairly quickly, and the couple times we have it seems like I'm on duty when it comes. This time I'm prepared; sled is already off the trailer, sitting in the driveway, and ready to go in the morning. Gotta do it just once before I retire! Hopefully we're not too busy tomorrow, but ya never know, it just might come in handy.

Yep,

no joke. In 12 to 24 this morning. Got 1.5 of sleet. What a joke. However I bet they set the salt spread record down here today. Our local forecasters blow every winter storm out of proportion. Yesterday it was quote. " be the storm of the century. Worse than the blizzard of 82." whatever

Just got back in the house from shovelling. It's really blowing out there, very low visibility. The kids (12 and 14) came out to help clean a little, and I wanted them to experience their first blizzard a little outside. They thought it was crazy. Took a rip down the street on the Yamaha into the wind (east). Holy crap. The ride back was much better with the tailwind.

Just had the sled out for a quick rip. No point in goin out tonight it is a white out. Cant wait to go do some drift bashing in the morning!!!!!!

We just had Thunder and Lightning downtown, it is amazing, snowfall rates right now are crazy! The snow is finally picking up
