Trailer OEMs had to restart from the ground up. Welders , wood ,metal , electronics , tires you name it they were out. Orders came in with prices to dealers tbd. Dealers backs to the wall had zippo to sell so just placed orders blind to get some product. Currently finished trailers are shipping and I was shocked my enclosed trailer increased by 40%. Idk if theses prices will hold go up or down but took my breath away. I’m real happy I bought mine last year during the pandemic slim pickings but I found what I needed and I would not pay current pricing for new. Imo certain products will suffer sticker shock and inventory will back up. Time will tell what’s next.
I get that brand new stuff is going to be more expensive and therefore drives used prices up, but still used is used especially recreation vehicles that get piss pounded.
Called my Triton dealer a couple weeks ago. My be-loved TC167 was in a hail storm and deemed a total loss. Asked if he could get one, he was pretty sure no, but called Triton directly just to ask. Triton stated if he were to place an order for a trailer today, they "Might" be able to have it out the door by July 2022, but no promises. They also told him that they were raising their prices (again) another 30-40% the following week. A new TC167 is now upwards of $10k out the door which is just insane for a two place trailer!!!! Not to mention, it would appear not nearly as sturdy.
Check out the frame coming out from under the deck and running up to the coupler of my 2018 vs. a 2022. I don't know much, but I'm pretty sure the 2018 would be way more structurally sound!!!! That 2022 looks like it could flex damn easy. Just my observation.

You aren't kidding on that. I've been looking for a smaller trailer to move one or possibly two sleds around with. Used ones are sky high - at least asking prices. New ones just seem ridiculous.

Trouble is with the debt so high their hands are tied. Uncharted territory for sure. Sounds like they are getting ready to print a bunch more for "infrastructure." Last time there was any restraint was when Bill and Newt were duking it out...
Looks like a political post to me. Oh wait! This site has a double standard. They ban me for this slightest political statement and others get away with things just as political as what I said.
I think they let things slide for people that add to the discussion around here. You've never posted anything without an underlying agenda. And I'm being generous - mostly it seems you just troll here.
Sorry for the loss. That's terrible timing with the current trailer market. I assume you're going to just keep it? You can't see the roof anyways! As long as no huge holes.
Crazy price! I paid $10.4K for my 2019 RC 8.5x27 ARSCT 9990 GVWR in August of 2019. I can't imagine what the going rate of it is now. That was a custom order I also did. Took 8 weeks to build it.
That is quite the design change. How much length did that remove on the tongue? It looked like one advantage of the clamshell style with longer tongue, you could fit a sled in back up bed. Not sure it that is feasible now with shorter tongue.
A buddy of mine has some hail damage on his "Protector" trailer - he is OCD as well, but did learn to live with it as replacement was a lot more work than he really wanted to do.
Good luck with your choices!
