You can take 1 to 2 east for about a mile get your phone or gps and take Stage Coach road just depends on the road if plowed but brings you to the bottom of the lake
As much as it pains me to say we are going to be forced through Gogebic tomorrow and Friday to get north of Bergland to the good stuff . Anyone know how to get on the lake at the south from Presque Isle up trail 1? Seems like everything is closed ? Any help would be great . Our plan is to run lane all the way north from south. Can’t go via ironwood as 8 is still not passable as it was dec 15. Just sucks they can’t get 11n open so we wi riders can bypass the whole area
This is one way but you should know that the short cutoff trail from 2 (the grade) up and across highway 2 to Stagecoach is a tight squeeze with all the brush. We went through it last week but it scrapes the sides and you have to duck under the brush. Someone may have opened it up but last week it was barely open enough to pass through.
Riding 1 to the Lodge and then out to the lake wasn't a bad option on Monday. It wasn't too rough.
You can also run part way up 1 towards the Gogebic lodge and still get over on trail 100 towards the lake. It is not officially open but we used it last weekend to get to the county park and onto the ice heading north.
Was Stagecoach road plowed? Then when you get to the lake you take a left to the county park and on the lake correct?
Anyone have a good update on trails around Lake Gogebic? Haven't heard any recent snowfall reports from over the weekend. Looking to take trip up in the next couple weeks, from central Iowa so have a pretty long drive, trying to decide if its worth the drive. would we be better off trailering further north past Gogebic?
Sounds like a good time. Other than the crappy trails which is kinda the most important part.Just got back, saw lots of deer on the trails around the lake , watch out. Lots of sleds in the area, the groomers can't keep up in my opinion. Went towards watersmeet yesterday , less snow but much better trails. Headed up the gaunlet(13) towards Rockland it was brutal but it's always like that. Our crew loves Henry's . 11 to lake of the clouds was good as usual, 102 was beat for the three days we rode. Lots of cowboys in town
