Legend ZX-2SR oil

This is the only oil, that Stahl racing uses, in their 800 improved stock and 1000 prostock NSSR sleds. They, Tia VanGuilder, has the 800 improved world record.

Stahl racing had the 1000 prostock world record for a while. Then Mike Cleary beat the record in February.
I trail ride, with this team, when they are not racing. We have logged thousands of miles and had may discussions about the Legend oil. They run Legend in all of their 2 stroke applications. I began using it this year as well. The Legend has a very good cold pour, very low ash, and smells better than the Mystic JT4 that I had been using.
I do not know a lot of specifics about the Legend oil. But if these world record holders/contenders use it, that's good enough for me. Stahl racing is not sponsored by Legend. They pay the same that we do. They are confident that it provides the best protection for all of their machines.

I am sure a racer would use it because its marketed by a engine-building company that specializes Polaris Snowmobiles (Their description). So if the racer was getting his engines from this company, he would buy oil as well.
Btw - Its not a synthetic but a mineral oil (So says Legend).
From what I recall reading about years (10 maybe) ago was that is used to be known by another name in Canada, Produmax ZX-2. Eventually sold and went out of business and years later resurrected in the USA by Legend Performance (then a US Dealer for Produmax ZX-2).

Don't know what your sled calls for (with regards to mineral, semi-syn, or full syn), but that may be your biggest issue. Assuming EAO is correct in saying ZX-2SR is mineral and your sled calls for semi-syn or better, well.....you might want to reconsider. If your sled is okay with mineral, then go for it!
I think there is some confusion as to the true meaning and benefits to "synthetic" oil. Just because the bottle says "synthetic" does not necessary mean "better". You can have a mineral oil that far out performes a synthetic and vise versa. A lot of "sythetic oils are made with a mineral oil "base stock". The synthetic part generally is referring to the additives and or detergent s in the oil. The things you need to be concerned with are the oil's service rating, poor point, ash content, etc. Just because your manufacturer "recommends synthetic ",does not mean you cannot run a mineral oil if that oil meets or exceeds the manufacturer's minimum service rating.

I ran the stuff in my 2013 SBA 800 (Time Bomb)since it was new. It now has just over 900 miles on the sled. I like that it is not very smelly and has almost no smoke. When the season is done for sure and I put the sled away I will run a compression test and pull the exhaust valves to see what they look like. I don't expect to see any problems because the machine has run flawless all season.

He was pushing Legend oil quite a bit last year. I questioned him on why it was the best. He got grumpy and never told me why it was so good.
I'm not saying it's bad or good oil, because I don't have a clue. But to believe it good because somebody on the Internet says it is.....well, I'm a French model. Bonjour!
