Lapeer Michigan,
Lapeer County Courthouse, which was built in 1846, and is the oldest in the state. The courthouse was used for one hearing per year, so that the courthouse would remain Michigan's oldest functioning courthouse.

Waterford has an incredible bicycle company. Many old bmx bike manufacturers subcontracted manufacturing to Waterford. "Standard byke co" did this and the old frames are called "Waterford's" They are ultra high end and still producing, in fact, a guy from this site Brian W works there. Schwinn also sub'ed out welding to Waterford thus many "Waterford" bikes around the country. I believe they are doing more road bike stuff now. Hold on,,,,I see you are from Waterford MI, Wisconsin's Waterford is the town I am referring to

Waterford bikes in Waterford, WI makes high-end custom steel road bikes, and also houses Gunnar (custom steel mountain and cyclocross bikes) AND Milwaukee Bicycle Company (fixed gear road bikes and 29er singlespeed mountain bikes). I have a Milwaukee 29er singlespeed (steel frame with a rigid carbon fiber front fork)...its the best bike I have ever owned (and I have a LOT of bikes!!!)

Frankfort, IL is where I'm located...nothing especially famous about our little town, but we're 10 miles down the road from Route 66 Dragway/Chicagoland Speedway. Oh...and watch for the name Lukas Verbicas to emerge in the next cycle or two of the Olympic Games in distance running. He just graduated from my alma mater, Carl Sandburg High School in Orland Park, IL (where I was also a national cross country champ), and will be world class in the near future.

Oh wait--Ironwood is the birthplace of the Stormy Kromer. A well known bean warmer--both functional AND stylish! I knew there had to be something.
