At 11 am today Rhinelander hit 54 degs, the latest ever in recorded history! The old record for latest 50 deg day was April 16th 1933, Spring is finally here!

Today is also our first day over 50 and it is already into the low 60's. Yesterday it warmed up to 43 degrees and that was our warmest day until today at 63 degrees. Our previous record for the first day over 50 was April 21st. Come on summer.

LOL! Its funny because its true. We'll probably be telling stories about how "it just doesn't snow like it used to anymore"!

Still lots of snow in the woods to ride. All that warmth coming so late with a good snow pack means quick melt and record run off....get ready to watch some poor smuck wx man with waders on and water flowing around his body demonstrating just how rapidly the water can flow around him while holding a microphone and zero restraining devices to keep him from getting washed away, all for the public eye to consume and dramatic demonstration.

John Dee never does that....could hold a big snow scoop and jump off the roof and show everyone on here just how deep the snow gets in dah U.P. eh?

That is a great take Moose, living in a flood prone area I don't know how many times I have seen reporters, many national news ones even, putting on their hip waders and walking out into the water to do the story, and it is all just another part of spring for us living here.

I think I have seen well over a dozen stories of the sand bag warehouse and factory and volunteers in bearasslers town in the last 2 weeks.

Flippen hot today has to be upper 60s maybe 70!! Pulled deck furniture out of storeage washed & put on deck with me & my fav beverage.lol What a difference in temp in just a few hours! Snow going fast now I can walk all the way to lake by dodging a few deep patches & lawn surprisingly green. I'll work on my boat lift Sunday nice to switch gears to summer stuff.:)

This was definitely one for the books. Late start (we all recall that) and a really extended riding season. This is one I'll remember.

On Tuesday I was snowblowing 6" of snow off my driveway. Today it was 77 degrees and we were raking the yard in shorts. Sitting out on the deck as I type this and it's still in the upper 60s. Taking the boat down tomorrow for a first fishing outing on the Mississippi. Hopefully there will be some Walleye in pan tomorrow night. Remarkable change of seasons.

I rode friday april 26th, up on the north shore around Finland and Isabella MN. Still alot of snow on trails, but main trails pretty rough, they stopped grooming april 1st. Had to tie my jacket around my waist and ride in a short sleeve t shirt due to temps around 60 degrees! Crazy winter turned out to be a great season! trestle inn swim siut pic 4-26-13.jpg
