I just saw that on Fox News. I'm guessing the Vikings Giants game will be at TCF Bank Stadium. Outdoors and 0 degrees!

It started to tear at 5:30 this morning, it's odd to see it deflated.

Well I'm off to finish packing for the first U.P. ride of the year, leaving soon!!!

Good Luck,
Pat

Sheesh, what else can go wrong for the Vikings this year? If it's not Old Man Favre, it's Old Man Winter!

It be fun to see them play the Giants outside on Monday Night but I don't think our market is going to carry the game.

and here's a bit of trivia, the last time Brett played in a Cold Weather game like the one they're expecting on Monday....was the last game he played as a Packer. NFC Championship Game against...you guessed it, the GIANTS.

*A recent update on the news says there is no definite plans for an outdoor game on Monday. The league is looking at all alternatives.

My mind is reeling with the possible witticisms equating the dome collapse with the Vikings season, coaches, and quarterback. However, in deference to my Minnesota friends I shall defer to others...........:D

How long

I wonder how long it will be till the Metro Dome hosts another event or Vikings game.

Seems to me by watching that video that roof is destroyed and will need to be replaced.

With all the Insurance hurdles to clear and then the new construction of a new roof could we be looking at maybe 2 years?

They dont just patch it like you would patch an inflatable doll do they? :D

If I remember right didnt the Silverdome roof cave in and it took a couple years to replace?

Does the Vikings organization know that the world has structual engineers. Three times, seriously?

Have you read some of the comments on YouTube? Some people thinks its fake.

Vikes do not own the dome.

Not to mention I believe they did have workers up there melting snow up until it got too dangerous to be up there. I'd ask if they couldn't just crank up the heat in the entire building, but something tells me that the HVAC there wasn't designed to pump out that much energy.

Someone mentioned why not use TCF stadium? I'd been following threads elsewhere online and it had several strikes against it. Since UofMinn was done for the year, the place has already been winterized. So likely none of the plumbing works at the moment. There's also the issue of removing those 18 inches of snow from the playing surface and the seating area. And it would be a miracle if FOX could break down, move, and reset all of their broadcast equipment in the time available. Ford Field already had FOX in town doing the Packer game, so no setup required. Also, the Giants were stuck in KC (flight diverted there due to weather) and did not bring equipment to play a cold weather game. The equipment managers would have had to get back to NYC with the equipment they have, and then sort out all their winter gear and fly back.
