I saw the vid of the roof collapse boy it looked scary. I'm just glad there wasn't a boat load of people in there.

I bet it will be a while before a game is there. I think it would be a suprise to host games there next season buy ya never know. More likely a couple yrs out.

They usually can fix it pretty quick, it's just a big parachute.
But maybe not by next monday which is the last home game this season for the Vikings.

So they should just save their money and start tearing it down now.

e. I'd ask if they couldn't just crank up the heat in the entire building, but something tells me that the HVAC there wasn't designed to pump out that much energy.

The roof is designed with two layers of panels, separated by air. It is designed so that hot air is pumped between them to melt the snow. According to reports this was occurring, just couldn't keep up with that much snow.

Dome roof

OK enough,,,,,,,,,the roof is only one layer, and they do/did pump as much hot air as possible to help prevent such a collapse. They also have hot water/steam hoses along the lower edge to help remove/dissolve any build-up of snow. The entire roof is made-up of panels bolted together. They continually patch small holes all summer long to prevent air leaks, but it is getting old, so my guess is, that is as much the problem as anything. I have been up on that roof many times, as we had the building maintenance contract at the dome for years and I believe it was a combination of snow load and wind that brought it down. OK off the soapbox. Peace and think more snow!!!!!!!!!!!!

corect it is run the sports commission . the tax payer is still on the hook every time they make a purchase down town to pay for that pos that the vikes just had to have that they are now to good for.I go to 3 or 4 games a yr but if it comes down to them moving to LA or the tax payer having to fund a huge expense for the already way over budget state I say remember to bring your sun block with you boys.most of the people who pay for these things like twins stadiums cant even afford to go see the games.what was the pohlads out of pocket expense after all was sed and done ?my guess not much after he got to sell the naming rights prob close to a 60state and 30naming rights 10 pohlad family split after he got his on the back end.all for a guy with a history of sticking it to the state. starting with his sale of the busted up MTC bus fleat to the state that gave him the money to buy the twins and let the real pillaging begin

I figure if anyone doesn't like living in a major sports area.
There is always Iowa, ND and SD to move too.

There are alot more than just the team, that lost big bucks losing that one game on Sunday. And the rest of us don't have insurance to file a claim with.

then the state should buy the team and sell the shares to the community with a cap on shares like green bay. then and only then is a team guaranteed to stick around and not hold the tax payer hostage for stadiums. till then dont let the door hit you in the *** on the way out.and if people built their business around what town has football then why are small and large business alike crossing the border faster than they can build privately funded buildings in the Dakotas.you know why and it has nothing to do with games it has to do with state governments willing to steel from peter to pay Ziggy and Carl{rip] and who ever else has ther hand out
