Most Miles Run

What's the most miles put on in one day?? I didn't record the miles, but the longest run I had was in 94' from Phelps to Porcupine Mountains. It was my dad and I on a couple Scorpion 440 whips. Those were some durable sleds in thier day.

Thinking about running from South Gogebic to trail 134 in Copper Harbor.
Got a couple rented MXZ 600s, a backpack with some jerky and energy drinks.

I think it was February 2006. 8 of us left the Driftwood in St Ignace at about 7am and checked in at Gogibic Lodge before dark. Conditions were nearly perfect that day all the way across the U.P. Fun Times!!!

We don't ride dawn to dusk or much after sundown kind of lazy so seems we never are on trail before 10AM & always back by 6-7PM if not earlier. I know we have logged 350 to 380 miles in that time span & rock & roll on grades & wide trails get up in triple digits so miles go by fast. Unfortunatley trail conditions are very slow this year all loose stuff you can't trust so 80s mph is max right now until things firm up so any miles are good mile days.lol

In February 2011 4 of us left from the Skyview around 10 in the morning and pulled in to Copper harbor about 5:30 that night. Needless to say we left at 6:30 and still had 200 miles to ride. We were back to the Skyview by 11:30 that night. It was just short of 400 miles. Now I can say that I have done it!

We rode from Hayward to Hurley and back in one day, not totally sure of mileage but it was around 350. We rode a bunch on the Chippewa Flowage that morning. Good ride but on way back from Hurley it got to -20, we were tired and getting cold.

Last year, 2 of us left the Red Fox Inn in Gwinn, rode to Paradise, put gas in and had a quick snack then rode back to Gwinn. At that point it was only 3PMish and we didn't want to be done for the day so we headed towards Marquette / Ishpeming and made a loop back to Gwinn. We finished the day with 502 miles on.

Last year I had a hotel paid for in Hurley,WI but I was in Copper Harbor. The other guy I was with didn't want to ride, so I left with my cell phone ready in case of anything. He got bored and informed me that he was sitting at Lac Ve De Sere Resort & Casino (Spelt that wrong for sure), buts just north of Land O' Lakes.
I met him there after leaving the Harbor at 8:00 am. Ate dinner there and continued to go visit the lucky ladies in Hurley later that night. Total was 9.5 hours and 325 miles alone, so not really hauling a## or anything. I was 21 years old last year so I understand that my body is still young, but for me it was awesome!!!

I had always wanted to ride from the Gogebic area to Munising. 2 years ago we left Gogebic Lodge at 9:45am and made it to the Arctic Cat dealer in Munising. Had dinner and left and got back to Gogebic Lodge by 11:15pm.

One other ride where I just thougth it was a cool, fast run. We were staying in the Gogebic area but wanted to run up to Copper Harbor one day. Left a little late and hit Carpor harbor about 8:00ish, so we stayed up there over night. The next morning, we left at about 7:00am to head back to Gogebic and we made it back before the Hoop opened for lunch. We rode groomed trails the entire ride back to the Gogebic area, it was awsome.

Have a cottage near Reed City Michigan. As long as the snow is good enough we ride from Evart up to Crystal Mtn in Thompsonville and back. Back near Reed City usually by 8-9 p.m. Right around 310 miles. Usually a good Saturday trip.

In the U.P. I have ridden from Munising leaving at 10 a.m. and go all the way to Taq. Falls and usually return to the Buckhorn for dinner. I can't totally recall but I believe that trip is about 300 in a day.

And i'm thinking 150-180 miles a day is somthing special. This is insane.

All trips of any length can be special. Its all about enjoying what you're doing and who you're enjoying it with.
I've had Just as much fun riding 60 miles in a day as I've had riding 400.

Gogebic to Copper Harbor with a few diversions and a search for a bolt to hold a ski on took 380 miles. It isn't always about the miles you put on, but sometimes it is...

My best ride was between Christmas and New Years this year. Rode from our house on LG to Root Cellar via the lake, took 13 to 1 all the way to Fish Tales, shared a coke and took the lake home. Total of ~ 35 miles.

In March of 09 five of us left the Antler Lodge north of Grand Rapids, MN and went to Tower, then up to Crane Lake, then down to Cook, and then back to the Antler Lodge, about 380 miles, but back in January of 82, two of us rode from our lake home north of Detroit Lakes, MN to Itasca State Park, then to Bemidji, then to Cass Lake, then to Walker, and finally down to Brainerd, 325 miles and I was on a Polaris Centurion with leaf springs and my buddy was on a John Deere Trailfire. That was my first backpack trip. We did take a different route back the next day that was only 240 miles.

Neldog- is that the day we met at the tailwinds? Did you hear Red Fox & Tailwinds both shut down this past October? I'm actually headed to Gwinn on Thursday with a small group for the weekend. Sounds like our drive there is going to suck as the 'storm' should be in full effect by then. Can't wait!!

The group of guys I ride with 4-6 of us average 322 miles a day. After 3 days I look forward to the 6 hour car ride home

I think 160 was my biggest total ever. I get sore and cranky. This was in SE Minnesota where the twisties and bunny hills abound.

Biggest day in the UP was 110 i think, that was with the kids and it was 5 degrees...
