I had always wanted to ride from the Gogebic area to Munising. 2 years ago we left Gogebic Lodge at 9:45am and made it to the Arctic Cat dealer in Munising. Had dinner and left and got back to Gogebic Lodge by 11:15pm.
One other ride where I just thougth it was a cool, fast run. We were staying in the Gogebic area but wanted to run up to Copper Harbor one day. Left a little late and hit Carpor harbor about 8:00ish, so we stayed up there over night. The next morning, we left at about 7:00am to head back to Gogebic and we made it back before the Hoop opened for lunch. We rode groomed trails the entire ride back to the Gogebic area, it was awsome.
365 in a day in 2006. 8800 in a season in 2001
And i'm thinking 150-180 miles a day is somthing special. This is insane.
What & where you riding? I hear ya not fun day on sitdown non rider forward trailing arm sled but I do 150-180 miles between noon & 5PM as many days as possible with simple loop Phelps WI to Kenton then BC or Sidnaw MI & back on Yamaha Attak. Everybody knocks Yamaha rear suspensions but fine for this old guy & just an easy afternoon jaunt.![]()
My most recent ride was a 2000 Ski-Doo Grand Touring. Put the most miles on a 96 Formula SS 670 though.
Always stayed near Land O' Lakes and rode south most of the time. For years we rode someone who knew a lot of the firelanes in the area and that was always fun.
