motorfist turnagain pass or klim everest (midlayer/jacket) or another fleece jacket

Bought a discontinued Polaris e-vent shell jacket at the end of the season last year and am now looking for the insulation layer. Purpose will be for trail riding and/or colder days (I can wear something lighter for off trail or warmer days). Was leaning towards the klim everest but I also like the look of the turnagain pass. I know Klim is popular here. Anyone tried out the turnagain pass jacket? It's their version of the heavy midlayer. I might also take a look at Cabelas but it seems that their technical/higher end ggear isn't cheap either so I thought I might just stick with the products that are snowmobile-specific.

why not just call some one like www.kenssports.com who deals in allot of non-current poo and cat gear and see if they have the liner for the jacket you have?
I have 2 dif liners for my cat shell 1 quilted heavy 1 thin fleece.less than 25 a piece pr through kens at hay days.I got the shell and 1 liner then a yr later called to see if they had a lighter one and they did.
nice to have options call em

How far are you from Novi, MI. tons of non current liners to be found there for heavy discount rates. I would stick to Klim or Poo insulation layer. I have both and both work well. This year I switched to a HMK Camo shell (looks cool) but will use same layering system with it as I do with Klim and Poo shells.

That's a good idea. I actually got the jacket from Kens. It was a great deal. Same breathable material (e-vent) used by motorfist at a fraction of the cost. Don't know if it will last as long but it doesn't need to. I will follow up with them. Thanks.

I can't make novi work this year but that is also something to consider in the future. I've been there before so I know what you are talking about in terms of deals. That's what is nice about the clothing from the sled mfgrs - it is heavily discounted the next year when the colors don't match just right.

That's the one I bought. It was either $60 or $70 towards the end of the season last year. I almost bought 2 at that price just to keep a spare.

I took it to Togwotee late March and loved it. Just looking to add some decent insulation for trail riding.

I don't see much sense in paying "snowmobile specific" prices for fleece. Fleece is fleece. Shell is a different story, but who cares who makes the mid layer. Its all the same material- weather its from Wally world or from Klim. jmo.

While out to idaho riding last year I noticed that most the locals were wearing e vent. I suspect they know something that I am not aware of. If my HMK pullover doesn't work out I will go with the Klim Everest jacket. I can get one thru my oil supplier with their patches on it at a nice discount.

I think e-vent with motorfist is the first real competitor to klim with goretex. e-vent says its better than gore-tex and vise versa. Just got an email from klim explaining why goretex is #1, lol. Motorfist's website tells you why event is better.

Last year at the Milwaukee show, I talked to a rep of motorfist who once worked at Polaris and was responsible for signing the deal with e-vent. This person had previously worked at Polaris, who had event prior to Motorfist. Motorfist has former employees of Klim also. I don't have opinion which is better, but the competition has to be good for everyone.

Best thing for me is to find things on clearance!
