I finally got my Mtn Max back on the snow. I owe Pat and Kip and major huge thanks for the help these guys gave me. I am so lucky to have friends like this. If you ever get a chance to stop by Pats motor sports in Greenland, look these guys up because they are a shop that raises the bar all the way to the top. Thanks Pat and Kip, you guys rock!

I did a track swap, slides, both clutches, gears, drivers, ski's, brakes, bars and cables, shocks, exhaust, etc,,,

Awesome Lenny, I know you did a lot of research last season on upgrading that sled. Now you gotta ride it!

Indy, it is a Yamaha, it will run forever!

So Lenny, what did you do exactly? Triple pipes? Stock pipes bored can? Reed spacers? Thinner head gasket? Looks like Simmons skis? Powerclaw track right?

The sled looks great by the way!

Andrew, I may just be riding. I have some IL buds on there way up right now, as I type. There supposed to help me work on da Town Hall tomorrow and we'll probably take a run out in the afternoon, unless they sleep in and get a late start. I cant say exactly when we will ride but we will ride.

Skylar, I had a cracked manifold and replaced it. I was going to bore the stock can but was unsure how. Kip told me where to do the hole but I was unsure of how to go about it. Tom Hartman suggested to me that the slp pipes are the best improvement for that motor but i don't have 700 bucks now for pipes. I would like to bore the can, do you know how. I did add the reed spacers, richened up the bottom end a bit on the mixture. Lifted up the front a tad with the viper shocks, gears, bearings, drivers. I had test rode the sled and the track is a huge improvement. I have already crawled up some stuff that I would normally not have gotten up. I still have some lag in the rpm when I pin it. It seems more of a clutch issue to me now but again, i am uncertain. i really need to get out and ride it for a while to see what I want it to do and what it is actually doing. I'm in the testing stage I guess.

The stock can boring makes it sound very nice, I also took mine to a single layer head gasket, really livened it up, have to use premium fuel now though. I also opened up the air box some. All of these are quite durable mods on this motor I have over 4000 miles on mine since I did it on an 01 SXr.

wow! I gotta say guys this sleds is a completely different machine with this track. The install was challenging, we had to grind of every other outer slides nub because the driver hits it. Also had to trim 3/16 off to clear the cooler. The machine is better than I expected. The track digs deep and pulls out of things I would have normally been trenched into. Back shift is right on. I had a blast on it. I was close to giving up on yammi's for boon-docking but this suits my needs in the area I ride. My old mtn phazer was a quality machine but a real pig to handle. This thing flips around easily. I never experienced the hook up where it wants to stand up. I love it big time now!

Skylar, thanks for the box of Yammi parts. Hope to ride again with you sometime this year. As soon as I am done with the town hall project I am going out scouting for powder and mark it with my gps

Your welcome Lenny, hope you got to use some of them. Sxrron is right, check out Totallyamaha.com for instructions for boring the can. Basically I took a 2" hole saw,and welded it to a 12" extension, insert the extension into the drill, and have at it!

The Mtn Max is lookin good Lenny and sounds like is ready to rip! We ran into your buddies at Krupps the other day, they said you were puttin 'em to work..ha We wanted to get down to the town hall and see your progress, but didn't make it that far. We will have to get together for a ride again this season. Always a good time ridin' with Team Lenny!!

Great looking sled.

I also have a 600 triple mtn max.

I have some clutch work done, different gears and a 1.25" track.

I geared it such that 0-80 pulls like mad but the top end isn't as it use to be. I love that because when you hit the gas whether it be in the corner or deep stuff, she is digging in and you are haulin.
