My 3rd "last ride" of the yr

So my son and I gave in to the call of the snow and headed up to Finland for one more "last ride." Had a great time, ran forest roads up near Isabela for the day. Only did 75 miles but we were making first tracks for the majority of them. We stopped and built a fire and cooked some brats, beautiful day. Theres more snow today than there was two weeks ago when I made my previous "last ride of the yr." I do think we are done though, supposed to be in the upper 50's this week. But I've said that twice before this yr!

Its amazing as we were driving up Hwy 61 there's no snow and even I was getting nervous but as soon as you turn up Hwy 1 about 2-3 miles it starts to look like winter again

got a pic from a bud on way home from sneak peek at 630.
we were loaded and on the road by 9 stayed in tofte and dropped sleds off the deck at the trestle .
much better than I expected for apr 9th

Did the exact same thing. Figured the Hillclimb was my last "ride" last weekend, and had the sleds all tucked away. I was on the fence all week with the snow we were getting but fought off the urge, until I woke to nearly a foot of fresh Sat. am. Took the boy out for one last ride and it was probably our best of the season. We were a couple of only a few between Mqt and Gwinn. Starting getting a bit slushy south of there.
Was cool to hear him complaining of sore arms yesterday!

Looks like you had more snow than we did but it sure was fun to get back out for one more time. I'll admit though that I am ready for it to warm up, dry out, and be able to get the mtn bikes out on all the single track around Duluth. Need to get rid of the weight I put back on over the winter.
