Super excited about this!!! I've had trail sleds, lake racers and drag sled
But just decided a few weeks back it was time for a deep snow sled.I ride
100% of my time in the western UP and know the trail system extremely well. Looking for
Some advice and getting into this part of the sport. Gear, maintenance ,after market parts

Hire a guide for off trail to be shown legal places to ride in WUP. Only other option is to to ride unplowed FRs but you don't need a RMK for that....enjoy!

plan a early trip west with lots of open space to practice . dress light and learn not to give a crap about busted plastic tweaked alloy and scratches . when in doubt throttle out hesitation is your worst enemy .

load that thing on a trailer and take it to LOLO HOT SPRINGS...ride outta there...great for begginners.....steep and deeps....rolling hills....plains.....no people....unplowed roads and highways...fishcreek road is my all time favorite right out side the lodge...gambling...hot springs ta soak in afta wards...avalanche danger mostly minimum all year but I have been in a couple so watch out....most avys are on north east slopes...keep that in mind...ALWAYS....then at ranger station you can pop into remote area of bitterroot range and some sweet fireroad hill climb jumps....and if you do those...one rule....NEVER EVER GO BELOW THE LAST ROAD.....its not worth it...have fun....one of me go to areas

see how nice it is

Idaho is quite a drive past a lot of great places to ride .

ya boy....those are some awesome descriptions of the places you 2 STROKES suggest to go to instead of MONTANA...its in MONTANA and ya ride ta Idaho.....who boy...chicago boy be wary of guys like this...they blow hard but never knock any trees down....all they ever do is yap that's there is a better place...thank god they get off before the train arrives eh?....its 14 hour drive from Minnesota....my buds do it all the time and meet us there...one has an RMK....the rest of rent CATS....why you ask...because you can sheer off an A-ARM on a cat and they will have it fixed in the morning for 400 bucks....we sheered off and bent a yami....it was out of commission entire trip and it was double the price of repair...my advice Chicago....is RENT BROTHER....RENT...bash some one elses sled to he!! and back....not sure if you seen some of my vids....LMAO....a CAT can take FAR MORE DAMAGE and keep on a keepin on 20X more than any other brand....I have personally tested that theory out 9 ways to sunday...goodluck...and heres where we stay...it am gonna be funski

ok tracker what ever you say rental boy this is the place I stayed this winter for 7 days in the flat tops saw no other sleds the whole time epic is a understatement 31.jpg

BTW renting works out swell till it dose not I have been there when guys are buying the sled they wrecked from the rental establishment because it is cheaper than paying the fix it bill.
and yeah great plan for a guy in chi town drive a extra 6 hours north to ride no reason at all the just head due west and stop in Laramie if a storm just hit or around back to ryan park for less traffic or head in to the Rockies to the ears or flat tops or go closer to Idaho but still south to Alpine . no best to just head to Montana from chi and rent lol **** if renting you fly in to Denver then rent a ram a trailer and 1 to 4 sleds at extreme in Denver they will pick you up if you pay them 3 more hrs you are ridding.

Yep, once again, you are right Tracker.

As you have proven over and over, if anybody needs any advice yours is the best.

Funny thing is, he didn't ask for advice about out west.

But your reading comprehension skills are clearly the same as your writing skills......aint dat right Tracker

Well here is what he really needs... get yourself a nice can on that thing, get a big backpack fill it with garden tools, work on them leg muscles there will be lots of stand up riding, get used to driving fast and work on your roosting techniques as you will be passing lots of people on the trail. Just kidding don't do any of them things.
