This thread is hilarious, Towing 101 says: remove belt.

Honestly Polaris....even if you have a fairly heavy belt buckle....how much weight can you save by throwing off your belt and letting your pants drop to your knees?

Sum guys just take this whole weight thing right to extreme!

What this guy needs is a hilly copter cause puttin a sled on top of another just is too time consuming...and a winch won't have a rope long enough to pull it out a mile or so.

If it were me....I would lay in the woods and pretend to be hurt...call 911...let the paramedics come get me...and suggest to them that they use the gurney to strap the sled on it and skid her out real gently. Then have a miraculous recovery back at the truck...thank everyone for coming out to see you and toss that puppy back on the trailer and head for dodge before those EMS guys even catch on. (No offense but sum of them guys can be dumb as stumps)

All kinds of priceless info in this thread... :)

I blew my motor north of Phoenix yesterday. My Dad towed me 35 miles home in just over an hour. He was able to drive 40mph because the trails were perfectly smooth and firm.

Ok well now i see all the comments. it was a big body skidoo 01 800 151 and i guess the tether is a pos and wouldn't let the sled run. so after towing it threw hills, and creek crossings we couldn't make it up i said f it and we left it sit over night it was already 830. called up daves towing and were going to use his toboggan to get it out but went back in the morning and kinda bent the tether and it started the sled and we got it out. my buddy took the sled to get a new tether and that was working fine until we get back in the woods and his sled dies again but eventually starts up and the problem is gone. Got a call form a guy up in Houghton who was nice enough to call and said he could come out and tow it but we had already got it out.

My tether just plugs in by the ignition (Polaris) and if unplugged the tether is bypassed completely. Maybe something to try next time or test to see if the tether is the problem. Provided it works the same on a Ski-Doo.

I am assuming this Doo has a computer chip in tether...no key.
