Need some Advice

He is old enough, I am told (by his mom) that he is in college....
I have decided to fight it and request Paypal to side 100% on my side.
I contacted them today and they asked for some info, in which I supplied, we will see what happens.

And you all are correct, my time and such is worth more than $300, it makes it even tougher to sell now that I am located in Texas and my sled is sitting in Wisconsin unsold.

Good for you. I hope PayPal sees it your way and this mommy's boy learns a lesson.

Did you send him a copy from the dealer that the updates or recalls were completed and was that possibly a reason he changed his mind.

I agree with everyone else. As the seller you took it off the market, thus it's not getting any more views nor potential buyers eyes seeing it. As the buyer, he was sure securing the remaining funds will result in the purchase. Add in your time, getting it to the shop, etc as Ezra stated and you have gone far and above. That $300 is yours, Paypal will have no problem siding with you and this young buck will learn a good lesson on how to keep a promise.

Nope, I had it for him. The warranty and updates were all up to date (which I knew but he wanted proof) so nothing bad that way. I think the truth is he could not come up with the cash to buy the sled.

True, except I wanted to sell it before moving to Texas. Now I have to rely on friends to show it for me. The crappy part is I had a guy wanting to buy it the day after I made this deal....

Paypal decided in my favor 100%
+ I think I just sold it this morning, Same situation, but I feel more confident with this buyer.

You guys are going to love this...
After the dispute was settled, the guy reached back out to me to see if he could buy it.....

I gave him no response, as my response would have been something like "whiskey Tango Foxtrot is your problem" along with more....

I would have said sure send me a 500 dollar non refundable deposit.
then let him know he has to come to Texas to pick it up

don't feel bad..more than anything else he removed your product from the market for weeks hindering your opportunities to sell.

I had already sold the sled, but that would have been perfect.

Believe me, I never felt bad about it. Kid needs to learn a lesson.
