I am looking for a good series on Netflix but in a slump to find something good for the family. Last year we watched "Lost" and man was that good. We are looking for something similar in the excitement and how well it can hold your attention category. Not looking for a comedy and remember it needs to be a family show. Already watch Star Trek Enterprise and Lost.

Any ideas?

Weeds, but not really for kids.
Californication, for you
Desperate Housewives, for momma
Married with Children series, shows real world life. (for those who admit it).
Gee not much for family???

My wife and I really got into Lost. Haven't found anything yet we look forward to like when that was on. We're now watching "Under the Dome" but it's just ok. Not sure if it's on Netflix, but we have kept up on "Revolution" - it's entertaining but cheesy. Definitely wouldn't call it really good - might be too violent for the family also.

Try Doctor Who.. you can start either with the classics from 50 years ago or start about 10 years ago with the modern era. It has comedy, and sci fi plus it is family friendly.

I (almost) got away with it.

Only two seasons available. I watched both seasons in about a two week period last winter. My son likes it but my daughter isn't into too much.

Problem with those series type shows is that I just can't stop watching, and after a 5-7 day marathon of 24/7 of watching my wife gets a little upset.

Northern Exposure - it is an oldie, but a goodie! One of my absolute favorite series.

Pushing Daisies is also a good one too.

I do love American Horror Story, but would not recommend it for family viewing - loved season one, not so keen on season two and cannot wait for season three to start up

We just started watching Downton Abbey. It took me a bit to get into it, but now I love it. It's set 100 years ago in England. I've seen all 3 seasons now and the 4th is coming out in Sept.

it's about rich people with servants, and the daily drama with that stuff.

not really kid friendly but Breaking Bad has me hook line and sinker

well I got hooked on "breaking bad." Like you said, not kid friendly but the acting is some of the best I have ever seen. It is also realistic of the sub culture meth heads. This show is excellent IMO and at the same time a little disturbing but it has some serious lessons a guy can learn from.

One of my all time favorite movies was Goodwill Hunting, very good acting in that one also.

My kids love the old shows like Andy Griffith or **** VanDyke, they watch them over and over.
