New basement under cabin?

We are looking at a cabin that has a block basement that needs to replaced, as in the cabin jacked up, new footing,poored walls, or even thought of using the insulated concrete forums, the cabin is about 100 ft. off the lake, single story 1000 sq., feet with one end and one side being fully exposed, full chimney in the middle, thought this would be a good place to see if anyone had done this before, or shooting from the hip, what something like this would cost?

I am a general contractor and do this type of work about once a year. Depends on the 1000 sq.' is it a rectangle how many corners, ease of digging around the home. The existing foundation is it a full foundation or only a crawlspace? If you can get me some plans I could send you an idea of what it would cost in our neck of the woods. We as a service to my back and my customers do ICF walls at the same cost as a standard poured wall, great option.

when I wanted a 1/2 basment under my cabin I alredy owned for 15yrs we built the basment with well and new septic lines behind the cabin and moved it back on to the 1/2 basment.
i am in the trades and it was still more than it was worth except now I can heat just a toilet/well/furnace room .
it is not just the cash huge hastel

We had the the exact thing done with our first U.P. home. We had this done 2005 the price of the place made it worth doing the repair. We added 2 extra blocks to give the basement more height. We had a fireplace in the basement right in the middle too. The project went very well cost was around $12,000

Thanks for the input, I was a mason for ten years in my "first llife",so I do get the nature off the work here, been out of it for 12 years so I have actually laid up and fixed alot of block foundations, just not a fan of block, (though I could do some really nice stone work on the place if we ended up with it!)this place has a full basement,two sides fully exposed, rectangle shape with a porch on lakeside, it won't be too bad to open up, were 4 hours away,only so much time, maybe thought we could get someone to jack it up, poor walls,set it down, and I would take over from there, and yes the purchase price would have to work. This site alawys seems to have a wide variety of good people so all info,(nightmare stories) is great to hear about! Thanks

If it is lake home I would say for sure do it. Off the cuff here in our neck of the woods I would guess you would be into it for $20000. Especially if the exposed sections are walk out type you will end up with a minimum of 22 ' of foundation wall

I did a foundation last year here's a pic. It's not too hard and worth it. My buddy Tim and i raise it then lay the block. I would say 20 g is a close number.
