Thinking about looking to buy a 12ft cap trailer. The trailer will need to be a drive on and drive off the front. Wonding what other thoughts are out there about different brands of trailers?(Floe,Sledbed,Triton,Ridgeline, ect)

thank you.

In looking at the "clam-shell" style trailers, you have a couple choices-an aluminum or fiberglass cap. According to the manufacturers, they weigh the same, just depends on preference-aluminum can damage more easily than the fiberglass but is "wash & go", probably would need to wash and wax the fiberglass one occasionally, more so if left outside year-round.

Here's the fiberglass cover that can be put on most 12' trailers:

Here's a link to Triton:

I, personally have had a Triton w/ their enclosure for over 10 years with no problems. Previous to that a Sled Bed open-bed which also was a fine trailer.

There are other brand trailers out there, but Triton has a nice package and available options, and pricing isn't too bad and there seems to be quite a few dealers who sell them, which in case you were to need anything, is a good thing. I would go with the Elite model if you choose a Triton.

Floe, from what I have seen is a well-built trailer, but not inexpensive.

I have the Triton 12ft clam love the trailer wish big time I would have forked out the few bucks for the pre wired interior light DONT CHEEP OUT and not get the interior light like I did you will kick your self every night you load up if you do.I have had my Triton for about 5yrs few dents and what not all my fault I think with fiberglass 1 dent would prob be a hole .they can get heavy with big snow on top.
I really like my buds 12 ft v nose much more ez to walk around in and to wrench in the trailer you cant open the hood with a clam unless clam open and someone holding hood.
but I would buy again.
my cuz and a bud have the flow 10 and 12.and on more than outing we have been chipping ice off the Fr of the POS trying to get it to close I will NEVER buy a flow gull wing in fact my 1 bud with the flow is the one who sold and bought the 12v nose He had had enough of the frozen fr end dinking around

i just got the triton and like it so far, I had a Triton PR 147 inline which was a great trailer. I really don't tow much so I thought i would down size. I didn't want the fiberglass cap because they are heavy to lift, not to mention if it had snow. By buddy has the floe and ended up cutting his head because the doors are the only part that raises and not the middle. Floe make good trailers, I just don't like the gull wing style thats all. I went with Triton so I could use all my old parts. ie tie down rings and wheel chalks, and they have 13 inch tires now days. Triton in my world
