Well t660redrocket,

I'd recommend that you "actually" read and study the information you reference when forming your opinions in the future and I'd highly recommend that you refrain from expressing you opinion until you really have a clear understanding.

I looked at the source of information you claim to be using to form your opinion. Here are a couple examples I found. The first club The Sno Flyer's of Escanaba are responsible for 17.25 miles of trail and they received $16,250.00 of State Aided Funds. Kinkross Chapter of Kincheloe is responsible for grooming 38 mile, they receive $27,226.80 to groom their system. Doesn't appear to me either one of these club's is surviving on 5K.

I'm sure you're fully aware of all the productive things you have to offer towards improving the issues you're having with this particular trail system. Step up to the plate and start swinging, nobody's going to stop you. Show us what you got.

If you followed my posts' you'd see I discovered info along the way. I found that club breakdown later. That's why I made the comment "That's a lot of cash". Yup, i spoke too soon! I can admit when I'm wrong. $5000 is not enough to groom for the year.

When it comes down to it I guess I'm envious of the the great maintianed trails in the U.P. and Northern MN. I'll have to resign myself to the fact that having quality trails like that are difficult to achieve in Southern, MN.

I can admit when I'm wrong.

This single sentence shows an enormous amount of character. Along with that you also have shown that you are passionately involved in the sport of snowmobiling. These two qualities alone places you among the very folks clubs cherish the most within their membership. I strongly suspect that you'd be a welcome addition to any club you approached for membership. Get involved and make a difference.

I was envious too, until I realized the traffic difference. The northern trails in Michigan and Minnesota can get beat up fast with all the sleds. I'll take my chances in southern MN after some of the great rides we had down there this year. We found awesome trails around Slayton, Wabasso, and East of Redwood Falls. The conditions were incredible in those areas and the trails were fun.

T660redrocket, you are more than welcome to join the NP Snowdrifters! : ) I hereby invite you to our April meeting. First Thursday of the month. Union Hill Bar. 8:00 start time. It's the last meeting of the year. To improve a situation that you see needs improving, like others and I have suggested, join the club. Make a difference. Personally, I still think you are being too harsh on our trails but, I'm sure you have a way that we can improve our grooming and stay within our budget..... See ya in April.

Thats all fine and Dandy, glad you did the math work for us, but your forgetting a couple of key points, break downs for one and most important is our groomer is not payed off, infact we owe LeSueur county trails $25,000.00. Our club pays them $5,000.00 a year for 5 years to pay it off. Go to a lesueur county meeting and see how many times a week they groom, i know for a fact they only groom 1 time during the week! As for Scott county they have 3 groomers with 220 miles of trail, do the Math! They also get $50.00 more per mile than we get
