Yammy does not call a dealer meeting for new product release for BNG..that I'm certain. What is coming???...no idea but the Vector & Apex faithful will not wait much longer for new product. Talk about low hanging fruit for Yamaha just waiting and wanting to be picked.

There are guys all over Craigslist trying to dump their 2014 and newer Polaris's to try and get one of the 17 leftovers. I chuckle as they are trying to get more for their used sleds with miles ranging from 300-4,000 than the new leftovers are selling for.
Poor saps, it's almost comedic.
On the flip side, I spoke to a local Dealer in Northeast, WI that I know outside of the business and he states the low Polaris prices (which Polaris allows "no minimum pricing" in Dealer advertising after 2/2/17) being stirred up by the Minnesota Dealers are about $400 under Dealer cost and thus they are willing to lose money in order free up storage and to bring in cash to fund newer projects.
FYI; he is NOT willing to match Minnesota and he is about $400 higher.

My local dealer would not match the MN dealer you are referring to. He was almost $1500 higher and said he would only make $300 at his price. Would've lost a grand if he would've matched. I found another dealer nearby that would match them.

While they are at it they can work on that Venture too, it may run forever but it will be torture getting there; I rode one at a demo event last year and it wanted to tip over at the sight of uneven terrain.

I've changed out ski bides on them Yammies for years now....believe me, they DON'T tip over that easy....lol
If we see anything from Yamaha at this time I think it will be a price point platform type sled. They Phazer never took off and doesn't sell well at all as a new sled. We need that entry level sled as it can fill many voids such as the novice rider, trapper, fisherman, and rental fleet. It makes sense and I hope they get it done. I know it's not desirable for most people here, but all in all it's what's needed most. There may be many negative comments regarding the Viper but it sells and no one can argue that. At least here it does.

I hear you Kip - but if that is all they release for the 50th, it will be a disappointment. Tough to come out with something bigger than the SW, but maybe a revamp of the traditional sleds.

Its very rare at least in my memory that any manufacturer will bring something big in back to back years. the sidewinder was big.....
Buttt it is their 50th so I would suspect something...... 50th anniversary for doo was the 1200 which was kind of second fiddle but they just released etec year before and new chassis 2 years before... for poo was the confusion 900 which was big but nothing new the year before, and cat was the procross chassis, which was also big but don't think they had anything new in 2011 either. Point is id be surprised if Yamaha came with some big news as they used their ace in the hole last year. See what happens.

I have been in me Wisconsin for a week now and have not seen a single SW or T cat. And I have been paying attention.Still a pile of 2000 ish XCs running around.

Those sleds are all you really need to putt putt the northern WI trails with Ma,Pa and the kids. Groomed board flat a little lube snow and off they go.

me....I cannot believe CAT let yamamahama TAINT THEM....didn't they just get rid of pogo sticks....LMAO....yamahaha and research should not be used in the same sentence....no wonder they wanted CATS BODY.....a motor is all they have....and it aint all that much either....you mod a Yamaha and your done for....unless you spend about 10,000 more cause it will need titanium and cranks welded and bearing balanced and after market this and after market that just to be EQUAL with the other 3 manus....ask any western rider this....they all add about 5000 on average to their boat anchor to make it equal to the others....cooksend...set em straight on this and the rentals at towgetee will ya....LOL...and the locals and the mods to a yam and what they gotta do to em

Have to set up the venture correctly or feels tippy. Bud has one rides hard with wife on back no sweat solid as a rock. Demo events have terrible set ups I almost did not buy my 1st Apex Attak due to severe darting at a Yamaha factory ride in Hancock. I was new to Yamaha and the EC mono but I understand how to set up sleds and knew I could tune out the qwirks of the 2008 Apex demo ride. Now the new Apex SS mono is a different story soooo harsh in demo ride I wished I could have spent a day tuning it. Most SS buyers say it is a harsh ride and Yamaha did replace rear mono shock on 17s. I feel the SS Apex may have attracted old Apex riders to buy new SS Apex had the skid performed well....Maybe Yamaha will get the SS to perform but already has a bad rap.
My guess is a'lot more sleds w/out the AC deal. Yamaha would be a'lot better off without the AC deal.

As far as the Apex goes lots of shock and skid mods available like the Star CK kit, a few higher seats, some clutch kits many skis and carbides but all brands have those mods as well. All I have done to my Apex XTX is use snowtracker carbides and add an iceripper track which are standard upgrades for any brand sled for me.

Yep same for me no problems at all in 25K+ miles since buying my first Yamaha Apex Attak 2007 non current in 08 then my used 2012 Apex XTX from Pat's 3 years ago just passed the 10K mile mark. Zero breakdowns and always gets me home. Can't say the same regarding other brand 800 2s too many tow ropes and burndowns to even think about a 2s for me.

Not sure id compare 15 year old 800 twins(which were in their infancy) to todays. Not even in the same ball game as far as power, efficiency and most importantly reliability. todays big twins are really impressive. not gona lie from all 3. tooo bad Yamaha stays out, as they clearly are what the market demands.
