Not the winter I had as a kid

Looking outside and it is raining again. This is what I remember as a kid growing up in central ND. It is like we get one good one out of every five. No doubt things have changed.

I can remember a hand full like this growing up . I can think of many that we did not ride till after new yrs .

I should dig out the picture of my brother, sister and I standing in my mom and dads front yard on January 21st, in our shorts and t-shirts, 54 degrees, not a trace of snow anywhere. THAT is another month away! I can't imagine what this board will be doing if that's the case.

I guess it would be nice if I pointed out the actual year, 1981. Then two of the next three years were record snows. You just never know.

I remember a lot of bad winters in the 80's, I think we forget that. Even the late 70's had some.

Yes, you had winters like this as kids. We have great records that prove this without any further debate also.

BTW... February 2015 was the coldest month of ALL-TIME in Flint, MI.

My closest climate station.

Lots of older riders try to compare everything to the 1970's. This was a period of anomalously cold winters. That's really not a fair comparison.
