Getting old stinks! Things really creek and crack in the AM now. Could be the 12 broken bone and all the plate and screws holding everything together.
Brad, you've got to stop listing to Brain and you might make it another year! LOL

Scott - What are you talking about..."getting old"? Wait 'til one day when you wake up next to a Grandma. THAT'S getting old.

So Dave when we don't hear from you for a few days we can assume Roseanne cold cocked ya!! lol

BigVin tell Suzy i'm sorry to hear I won't be riding with her this year. Was looking forward to meeting the whole gang at the ride in.

Scoop, hope you come to the grass drags. I have plenty of room here so don't worry about going home that night. Plus I love making big breakfast so stick around for that too!!

Nate, are you guys coming and bringing the little one? I have plenty of toys and even a napping room with a porta crib for her.

Brad, be very nice to Kelly!! lol

Michael, how you doing? Still in the hospital?

Andie put down E's pill bottle!! lol

Squat better find a sled or your gonna have a hard time betting me at the grass drags on Madison's 120!!! lol

JulieS - Don't worry. She doesn't follow this board..just what I relay to her. Besides, she's having so much fun being a Grandma, I don't think she'd mind...maybe. ;)

HAPPY FRIDAY!!!

Don't forget to FALL BACK tomorrow night! No matter if we fall back or spring forward... the clock changing messes me up.

What are ya doing for Halloween? What's your costume?

Jim and Dustin are heading to Wolf Ridge (up by Duluth) next week for Dustin's school trip. Each year the 5th grade class goes up there for a week. They both are geeked about it. Very cute watching them get ready.

Have a GREAT DAY!

I'm a jail bird and going on a pub crawl via a bus! I think were going to hit about 10 bars with 40 people on the bus!

TGIF!

Ok i'm having Guy look at a sled for me. Its an RMK with a 2" lug track! Question is i'm not sure I want to put lots of trail miles on a 2" lug track! What do ya think? Jules ask Jim and Doug for me will ya?

Hey Squatty! I heard about your costume... you got the ball and chain with ya??

Dustin runs Revegade that has a 2" paddle. He does just fine with it on the trails. Ya gotta have deeper snow... don't want hard pack. If ya got hard pack ya just gotta dip off trail into the deep stuff to keep the tunnel and track wet.

HAPPY FRIDAY!

I'm going on a road trip with my parents to watch the local High School Football team in the playoffs, then when I return, I will show up at my favorite pub as a 48year old-overweight-unemployed songwriter. That should get me a free beer!

SQUAT: Coming from experience (ie: spending a lot of trail time with YOU) I would opt to look for a SwitchBack or one like you had. You don't do enough off trail pounding to spend the dough on a 2" paddle track. Or if ya do, I'll make sure not to be the guy BEHIND ya!

Is his a 144? I remember Jim,s was. How did he like the whe way it handled on the trail?

Randy
I was thinking the same thing. Here is what i'm still thinking tho, I ditch bang around here quite a bit and it would be good for that. I dont trail ride all that much here. I'm going to go western UP most of the time this year it looks like so I could break trail for everyone! lol Also if i wheck the track this year I can always get a 1.5" next year or trade it in on a nes sled. Humm what to do?

Squat - Jim's OLD 800 Summit (sold to Doug) is the 144 with 2" paddle. His NEW 1000 Summit is a 163 with a 2.5" paddle. That is the one that burned down last year - 4.8 miles into the first ride. He had to completely rebuild the engine. That one is specifically set up for high elevation right now - so he won't be riding that unless it's out West. He has his 1000 Renegade that will be his trail sled.

Doug has the 800 144 2" which is the one that Jim rode and got stuck on that little tiny hill in Paradise. It's a 2" paddle and does just fine on the trails.

Revegade is a 136 2" and does good on trails too.

Randy is right - when you are behind it, you get totally bombarded with track spray! Which is REALLY annoying!

Have you sold your motorcycle yet? What motorcycle did you buy?

Squat, I would opt for the 1.25" or 1.5" lug if you are going to do 50% groomed trail riding. 2" paddles on hard pack don't do well. Like Juls said, you will need to get in some deep snow every so often to lub the hyfax or they will melt and you will be screwed. You will know if you are melting hyfax as it smells like hot burnt plastic (well, it is.) If you do mostly off trail 2"+, get-r-done.

Squat, sent you an e-mail about it. I'm changing my track this year from a 2" to a 1.5" The 2" does not like hard pack. The other thing is like Julie said, being behind a 2" track on the trail is not fun. It kicks up snow/ice pellets and shoots them like a salad shooter......

Well now i'm getting a good idea who i won't be riding behind this year, hate snow in the face!!

Nate are you guys coming to the grass drags at my house next weekend??

Scoop how about you? Madison will be gone saturday night so her bed is free, i'll even change the sheets for ya!!

Dave you and Roseanne coming? Like to see you more than just on the trails in Silver Bay area? Madison does wonder how we always seem to run into you guys.... : )

Squat you better get a sled, Madison told me last night she won't let anyone ride her sled so that options out! lol

Can't wait to ride, can't wait to ride, can't wait to ride!!!!

Another dreary day, but at least it's Friday. Life has been somewhat boring lately. I did find out my Dad has a blockage in his heart. He is supposed to go next week to either have an angioplasty done or a stent put in. I sort of wish he was having it done the following week because I took some vacation time and had planned to go down to Chicago on Thursday the 12th. We'll see what happens.

K-Boo - I'm still considering coming to the grass drags. I guess it depends on what happens with my Dad and whether I should change my vacation days. I will talk to my sister this weekend. I actually have a vacation day next Friday the 6th as well. I had 7 vacation days I had to use or lose by the end of the year and that's not including the days I took off between Christmas and New Years.

Squat - I don't know if I would go with the 2" track either. I rode with someone last year that had either a 2" or possibly a 2-1/2" track. We were riding trails and he constantly had to go out of his way to get into fresh snow. It didn't look too fun to me. Plus, with he unreliability of the snow depth in some years, I would rather have a sled that can handle less snow. Just my 2 cents!

Back to doing some boring computer work. Zzzzzzz.
