He was the best man at our wedding, and it is his 50th birthday,...
His wife is sending me out there for his "Suprise Present". I am sure
there will be Many tears and beers and great stories to share and catch
up on,.... then,.... when I get back,... it will be Sled Time! (oh ya, and Christmas!)
As the "Ride In" Approaches, I hope to know more on my "staying where-abouts".

)Well, if I wasn't planning on heading up to Munising for New Years, I might have taken you up on your trip to Bergland. Last year was the first year in a long time that I didn't spend New Year's Eve in Munising, so I told my friend I was planning to head up there so we can continue our New Years Eve tradition. I am planning to bring my sled and I hope to go for a ride, even if I have to go alone.
As for the Ride-In, I would love to go but I cannot afford to spend $90 a night for a room for one person, so I may pass again this year.
This could be the last year I will ride. I started thinking about the whole idea of selling the sled thing again. I can't see me being able to afford to ride much and it doesn't do me much good sitting in the garage. Plus, it is hard to hook up with people to ride with and I am sort of sick of driving everywhere alone. If I could sell it, I would have a little bit of piece of mind in the bank just in case my job ever goes away like so many others. It is something I will have to mull over the holidays.
Sorry, I'm having a bad day. I get depressed when I hear about more paper mills closing which means more people losing their jobs. One of the mills that is closing is in the U.P. It just sucks.

Scoop I found a place just south of Houghton for $35.00 a night for a single person, i'll e-mail you the link. I understand the driving alone, I've been doing a lot of that lately!! But I've told you before that your more than welcome to join us anytime we go riding, ya you'd still have to drive alone but you'd have friends to ride with!!

I might have a opening in my room BV. I won't know until next weekend if my "roomy" can make it, so you have first dibs if you're not already booked by then.
If that happens....I'll have to bring my git-tar so we can hoot, hollar and call up all the women in the hotel while we jam and get drunk.

We are not going to make it to the Ride In thought we were but Megan has AAU Volleyball that weekend end. But I am leaving for Cable on Feb. 1st for the week anyone is welcome to join us for the week or a even just a day or 2

Hi all, survived the storm and another B-day.
Scoop - I just will echo what everyone else has said. Don't sell. I understand the frustration of driving/trailering alone. Ever thought of storing your sled up by friends that are "on the way" to the areas you like to ride? Might give you a reason to visit those friends more often to ride and save some of the gas money of all the towing allowing for more trips and saddle time.

been extremely busy, 14 hour work days and class. hope everyone is ready for the holidays, im just ready to ride, last sunday we trailered up to harrison mi, and rode up to grayling, it was a nice day. we will be in munising from the 26th til jan. 4th, if anyone here will be up there riding, let me know.
everyone take care of yourselves, i will work on joining the conversation, probably after vaca, hopefully things slow down a bit.

Well, I am going to be at the Ride-In. I made reservations at the same place K-Boo and Squat are staying at. I'm happy! Now I just have to find some extra money somewhere. I have to remember to register, too.
I still have to think about the whole selling the sled thing. BigVin is right, if I sell I will probably never get back into the sport (unless I win the lottery). So far I will stick to my original plan and see how this year goes. If I find that keeping the sled is unaffordable, I will have to seriously think about letting it go. I will cross that bridge later.
BigVin - Have fun in Raleigh! Let me know when the trails are good to go up by you and I will take you up on your offer!
