Don't want to hi-jack the thread so just a quick question for reiley,

Be careful up there by yourself some have been known to run people into the pickers and just keep on going.

Have fun up there. I haven't seen a lot of trailers heading north out of Chicago yet, but I'll check back in on Thursday or Friday again. LOL. Another weird weather winter. Since we have no snow here, we were gonna load the dogs and the bikes and go visit family down in Tennessee but they're getting pummeled by bad storms.

Brotha Mezz,
Thats exactly how some of my friends up there described it!
Like you could "leaf blow" 2 feet of it off your driveway 'cuz it was so light and fluffy.
Stomp your feet,... and a 2 foot circle of clear area would appear.
Hopefully the warmer day temps will let it pack a bit.
Keep it comming!
and send some down by ME! :)

Vin Buddy, Thank you for that, nice to know my observations are not interpreted as that of a "Gloomy Gus", just trying to call it as I see it. All I can say is, if you do venture UP, be prepared for swings in area conditions. So many folks hear that the Kee has gobs of snow (20+") in one day & more on the way! Woo Hoo, were off. I know the area businesses will appreciate the visiting snow lovers which is long over due. For those that do venture UP, be observant, be safe, be patient & enjoy.-Mezz

Maybe we got lucky this year as our group will be landing in the UP (Twin Lakes) Wednesday the 23rd thru the 27th, so will be waiting to read some feedback (positive I hope) on conditions and if the forecast keeps looking positive we may just get lucky in this crap shoot of a winter?

So maybe all those north bound trailers this week are south bound next week, except for a couple of north bound Iowa trailers.... hahahahahah...

From the bits and pieces I am reading, I feel that people will either be staying at their places an hour or two away, or be staying at hotels that do not currently have rideable snow yet are close enough to also trailer to the area.

Yep more than likely stay at favs then drive to snow & unload. That is what I would do spread the wealth & get a ride in. For me Football until the LES gets deeper & more widespread. To those that there or going enjoy only rideable trails in UP.:)

Well the their starting to go by, I can hear the rumble! My desk looks out at US45 so I'm enjoying my view today and it's snowing.

It's so good to see the trucks and trailers heading into the U.P. it's been awhile!

C'mon Old Man Winter keep it coming!

For our usual Jan trip we planned it out of my in-laws place in Phelps thinking a change of scenery would be interesting. I've been up here working and commuting to Rhinelander since Friday and hav not seen a ton of trailers yet but I'm sure they're in the way. I know tomorrow we have another 1.5 hours north to find decent snow, hopefully we pick up a few more inches before Tuesday when I head home! Here's to a safe and busy weekend for everyone else heading up!

And remember there are those of us with sleds already in the UP so we'll be driving up trailer free on Friday.

We'll be nice and wave when we pass you in the left lane going up the big hills. =)

the more the better, not just speaking from a business perspective. Think about it, people have sleds and want to ride and they are doing just that. If it's not ideal they still have fun and justify the investment. You take the good with the bad and it is what it is. I'm going riding right now!
