Opinions on side by sides

My family owns a 2007 ranger xp 700 and we absolutely love it we use it for plowing in the winter and so far nothing has stopped it. I have rode an arctic cat, a john deere 825i, a mule, and a rhino and out of all the ranger is my favorite. The ranger just seems to pull the hardest, ride the smoothest, and is very strong in my opinion. in the summer time our main use for the ranger is hauling fire wood. we fill the box all the way to the top of the cab and then we have a single place jet ski trailer covered with plywood hooked up to it with wood stacked up about 6 feet high and the ranger pulls that without even blinking an eye.

Dead cat

you maybe get a chance to ride it but you will spend more garage time fixing it if it anything like the quality of a Prowler.

That's a pretty inaccurate statement for something that isn't even out yet.

Any body could slap together a "concept " toy and bring it to a show.

The new car auto shows are full of them, concept cars that never got built.

I stand by my original post, everybody's playin' catch up (to the RZR-XP 900) and they will for quite some time.

And just for the record, I'm not brand loyal, Own YAMAHA, Ski-Doo, and POLARIS, DODGE, GMC, Jeep.

POLARIS got a 3 year jump start on everybody else, plain and simple.

I'll dig up this thread IF that A/C ever touches the dirt and it'll be entertaining.................

unless Im wrong, MI-Trale trails are 50" max width? The AC is over 60".

It's hitting the dirt(hopefully this fall), it's a 2012 model and I've het to see anybody inforce a 50" law up here in the U.P. and I also talke with plenty of the DNR CO officers as we do a good part of there repairs.

Jordan, dont be Marty.

I agree with chad66..50" in the UP is out the window.
I love the looks of that cat but I also agree with Kraven700 that it has some cat-ching up to do with the mack daddy....RZR. We will definatly find out. Everybody said the commander was gonna be way better then the RZR and from what I can tell its kind of a piece of doo doo compared to RZR. All in all there fun toys that i cant afford yet. Thank mudgod I have dirtbikes.

Correct on the width not being an issue.

As I said before, re-visit this thread if that A/C is built.

As Ranlam posted above, even the much-hyped Commander didn't live up to expectations, not even close.

Check with NELSON's SPEED SHOP in Greenville, Michigan, LARGEST YAMAHA, ARCTIC CAT, POLARIS SKI-DOO dealer in the Midwest, and I believe the 2nd LARGEST A/C dealer in the Country.

They told me that 90% of the UTV sales are POLARIS

There's a reason for that

Not saying that Polaris isn't a good machine and I'm not surprised they own the market share, they've been making them longer than anybody and they offer the most models...no rocket science here. But I dont think the Wildcat is going to be a flop, I think there going to raise the bar with it. I've seen it up close and the engineers went over them and explained what we'll be getting as a production unit. Will they out sell the RZR? I highly doubt it as it's ONE high end model not a whole line up. Keep in mind that AC has been racing (and winning) the Baja races with the side by sides so I'm sure that's were this project is coming from.

I hope it does well for Arctic Cat's sake. They seem to be raising the bar all around. 2012 sled lineup looks outstanding, and with this wildcat I hope they have a great year.
Chad66 when you get one, I sure would love to see it in action. So take vids or let us come up and ride wit ya.

Confirm that engine size and manufacturer?

Isn't A/ C suppose start building their own engines for 2013??

The ONLY good thing about the A/C is ( soon to read was) the SUZUKI powerplant.

Class leading H.P. and reliability.

Why would A/C want to mess with a good recipe?

When I get one in, just take a ride up to Hancock and I'll let you test drive it!

It will have the Arctic Cat 90 degree V Twin 1000 in it. They wouldn't tell us the HP of it but they did say they were "massaging" it from it's current stage. I being a Suzuki dealer also really like the Suzuki mills but I understand them wanting to build their own engines. The ATV engines have been out since 2006-'07 I believe and have been holding up well. It's also nice to see a company bringing work TO the USA rather than looking for a place to have them built for pennies.

Well deserved zing for POLARIS regarding south of the border re-distribution of their RZR + ATV Production, as I don't like it anymore than any red-blooded American.

But then again, POLARIS has used Fuji in the past, and since 1998 +/- has switched over to ALL American made engines.

Most would call that BRINGING work to the U.S.A.

POLARIS ATV's, RZR's , & Sleds are more AMERICAN made than any other out there today, period.

Getting back to the mythical Wildcat and it's hypothetical powerplant;

Are you saying it's the Z1-Turbo 1056cc engine (minus the turbo)

or ???

When you saw this Wildcat at the show, did you hear it run?

I wonder why not...................................

Apparently it's been seen but no one's heard it (run)

Kinda like Bigfoot, or the Loch Ness Monster....................

They've been using the 1000cc 90 degree twin motor in the Thundercat(atv) and Prowler 1000 since 2008 but they will be making some tuning changes for it in the Wildcat.
