I've been there, it's in that older building (built with character + quality nonetheless) that sells Yami's as well.

Racing you ask, it's not my first rodeo, lol

You never answered my question if you like eating sand?

I like eating sand just as much as the next guy! Probably why I usually go over board on most of my toys, I'm getting better though!

Yes that is the place, Yamaha,Suzuki,Arctic Cat, Kymco,Polar Kraft and Sweetwater...little bit of everything.

I may not be old but I've done my fair share of racing also. Do you know how make a million dollars racing?? START WITH TWO MILLION!

And I'm not sure I'd want to go that fast with that short of wheel base! After we drag race we'll have to take you to the local moto-X track and make sure you can do something with that RZR other than go straight!!

After we drag race, we'll have to stop and get you a new pair of goggles, as your old ones will undoubtedly have sandblasted lenses.

Then we'll have to stop to repair the A/C as well I'm sure, plan on bringing a spare belt, clutches, (both primary & secondary) plugs, etc.

I'm up for the motocross track as well, Catching big air is fine with me.

If you're thinking of runnin' that A/C on the whoops, for more than just a few laps, you should probably bring the following:

1) Portable welder to repair all the fatigue cracks in the frame

2) Spare replacement shocks

3) Spare tie rods and A-Arms

4) Wheel bearings, front and rear

5) C-V Joints

6) Service Manual

7) Updated recall notifications

8) Winch (to winch it up onto the trailer)

9) Trailer, to drag that tired A/C home

As the entertainment continues......................................................................................

Kraven,
You race in Byron very often? I only live about 2 miles from the track and go a few times a year. I'd come out to watch ya and say hi when you were going. I use to do a lil racing down there myself, my stock '98 SRX 700 ran 10.5's @ 120 mph. Thinking about getting back into it a little with a buddies P.S. 1000 Pol.

Sorry for the hijack, back to the RZR vs. Wildcat racees.

I hate to date myself, but I built that '72 Colt in my garage and raced it at Byron back in '84.

I raced there with several cars from '80-'85

Last I heard, Ron Leek (LEEK TRUCKING) Still owned the track?????

I was wondering if they'd let me make a few runs with the RZR??

So you're in Stillman Valley?

Good to see you're out there having fun?

After I got out of the 1/4 mile cars, my time is wrapped up in sledding, Jet-Ski-ing, and now RZR's.

Harsh? Just the facts

Well, I believe that you work on more POLARIS's. (or is it POLARII if more than one?)

By simple math, there's more of them, so if they were equally reliable, so it stands to reason that you'd be working on POLARIS products 75%-80% of the time.

Didn't think of that did you?

Do you find yourself working on the made in U.S.A. A/C engine compared to the SUZUKI? Be honest now.

All jokin' aside, did you ever ride an ATV or SxS from your shop up to Copper & back? I was looking to ride out of Presque Isle and try to run up to Copper and back this Fall. We make that run on sleds all the time.

On a UTV, What's the deal with the Police escort for crossing the bridge? Is it strictly enforced and limited for the scheduled 3x per day, or can I cross anytime??

I dont get much time to play to be honest with ya, and when I do I usually trailer somewhere to ride out in the woods more than on the trails. So no, I haven't been to the Harbor and back but it is more than do able. Once you get to either side of the bridge you can call the local authorities and they will escort you across the bridge. There should be signs on both sides with the numbers needed.

I hear what your saying...there will always be more Escorts on the road than CADILLACS!!!
And yes I thought of that...it's always been my Yamaha sled line! I wont get into what we see the most of in are shop as I do not want to offend anybody and although there are not as many of the Arctic Cat built motors out there yet (since they've only been making them since '07) I can honestly say I've only had one motor go. And I'm sure no matter WHAT this kid had under him, he would have destroyed it with ease!!! You just cant fix stupid.

But's it's good to blend in, when in the ghetto!

Does this mean you'll have the large "Gangsta" whitewalls and curb feelers along with pin-striping on your Wildcat 225, commonly referred to as a "Deuce and a quarter" ???

You could offer that as a dealer installed option or bring it up at the next dealer meeting...........................

didn't say I was a "wigger"! Just that when your in the ghetto, and you dont belong there, it's good to blend in! I do however run 20's on my truck! I like my "bling" as much as the next guy but I'm more of an old school guy...'46 Dodge low rider truck, "74 Cuda and I like my CJ's. And trucks should have diesels!

Just thought if you still raced I would come check it out.

Yes Ron Leek still owns the track but now has a partner in it with him. I'm sure they would let you run it, I've seen guys with hot rod garden tractor down there making passes.

I actually live on the Oregon side of the track a couple miles.

Had a blast racing the sled out there and look forward to getting back out on the track soon. Had to take a few years off when I bought my place in the UP but it's about time to go have some more 1/4 mile fun!!

Chad,
Would that be a Hemi Cuda ya have? Truck sounds sweet also, any pics you could throw up? If not I understand.

We'll be up your way in a month or so when we take our ride from White Pine to Copper Habor, if we have time we'll stop by and say hi.

I WISH it was a Hemi Cuda! I'm running a 440 with dual quads, it sounds mean and roast the tires but it goes NOWHERE! Not a drag car but fun to drive. It's been a project car since my parents bought it for me when I was 12, it was a rust bucket! I'm horrible at posting pictures but if your on facebook all my toys are posted somewhere in there. After years of wanting a hemi, my dad did finally get his a couple years ago...'69 Hemi Road Runner and it's all numbers matching! Beautiful car. I'm pondering selling my '46 Dodge if anybody is interested in a project? Runs and drives but still needs the new plug and play wiring harness installed the interior is nothing more than a mini van bench seat right now, its a head turner though!

I'd like to see some pics of the Road Chicken.

I used to have :

'68 Dart 383 4-speed, Dana

69 Dart G.T.S. 426 WEDGE, 11:50's through the mufflers, drove it everywhere (when I was 18, back in '80)

71 Demon, same 426 Wedge, 4-speed, 10:60's @ 126 M.P.H.(pics below @ Byron in '82)

If you look closely at the '71 Black Demon pic leaving the starting line with the wheels up, that's your neighbor from Oregon in the "MOPAR CITY" White Imperial in the far lane, leaving early and "red lighting" back in '82

I'll let you know when I'm going to run it at BYRON

Thanks for the info

Once we get the cars out for the summer I'll try to take some pics and post them.

Man it was would be fun to live next to a drag way but I'm pretty sure I'd be broke with a really fast car...and truck!

While you guys were debating which UTV is better or faster, I was out riding the wifes RZR yesterday & heading out on the YZ450F today. Enjoying the 75+ deg. weather. lol Keep it going I'm enjoying it. We should all try to get out for a ride this summer, as long as ya don't mind riding with my wifes "Pink" RZR, I'm UP to White Pine a couple weekends a month.
