Pickled Eggs

I came up with this since I don't know how a certain Mass City Bar (across the street from Chances) makes the best pickled eggs ever. We got them to sell us 2 dozen as we left town. Supply is running low. I googled pickled eggs and got thousands of recipes. I only have so much time left on this planet to perfect a recipe. Bribeing would not work on the woman running the bar. (we tried).

yum, pickled eggs. When I was young, dad raised many types of wild fowl and pickled quail eggs were a staple.

To this day I call him "the bird whisperer"

When i had my bar i would buy the pickled hotdogs from a company called Bayfield, when i sold out the hotdogs i would use the left over brine from the hotdogs then boil up some eggs and put them in the hotdog jar. Sold alot of eggs and hotdogs back then. I,m going to have to go out and buy a jar of hotdogs now that you got me thinking about them.

This is a pretty good recipe was Great Grammas

2 cup white distilled white vinegar
½ tsp salt
½ tsp hot red pepper flakes
½ tsp black pepper corns
½ tsp ground mustard
heat vinegar to boiling add the rest of the ingredients. Place peeled eggs in a jar cover with boiling vinegar mixture let stand 2 weeks

could add 1 tsp of pickling spice too

Make sure you prepare the jars like you would for canning before filling

Mrsrunningbear, We (my wife) made our first batch. Used your recipe and added onion and used cider vinegar instead of white vinegar and tsp. of pickling spice. We (she) put the eggs 6 to a jar topped off with the soulution and sealed, then refrigerated after solution cooled down. I am going to test taste soon. It has been 1 week.

That right there is funny. Hey Wayne, I'll be up that way sometime this spring and can grab you some pickled eggs if it will keep you proper. Not sure if we'll see you this summer but I think there is a chance. Let me know.

Why wouldn't my wedding be on LOL? You coming for the free booze? haha. No Yooper Honeymoon for her. I have mentioned it several times but she isn't biting LOL. I don't know if I'll be able to make Sheboygan but we'll have to do something. We're thinking of an ATV trip in late August early September I think.

No word from "Danger". Season ended with a wrecked sled for him and he went MIA.

I will bring a gift. It will be something by Ronco. Bun warmers were hot when I got married. A new windshield for your sled would make a good gift?....no? Danger wrecked the Mtn. Cat? Wow, and he has such great riding skills. I learned a lot from him at the slednutz ride in. NOT! lol. He is a very nice guy hope to ride with him again.

Tried one today, I think they need 1 more week to reach prime. The onions are great, eggs need more time. My goal is to duplicate the bar in Mass City that is across the street from Chancies Hardware (frat house). Those are the best I ever had. Willing to pay top dollar for the recipe they use. I will have them in a store near you if I every get it. The store bought picked eggs are Horrible. I will try another tomorrow. I have 5 left and am in a comfined space (boat). so sampling is limited.

LOL. No windshield this year. I'll leave it until I break it.

Danger got the name for a reason. He can make the easiest of climbs or maneuvers dangerous. We'll take him out west this year and get him properly trained.

Wayne, are you coming to Sheboygan for a boat-load of Johnsonville brats? :)

Got to love that town. Kohler is a great neighbor for them $$$. I stay at the Skipper Bud's Marina. I go for the Greek Festival and the cigar store on the main drag has very good cigars. Love Greek food. The music is tough though. lol. Best time for Brats is German Festival in Milwaukee. Did that last yr. Sprechers makes real beer for that event. I Zodiac there from McKinley Marina and park at the kids museum (free) docking then walk to Henry Maier festival park. Good times! Keith and Andy let me know what you guys want to do. I will hook up with you. We can meet at the Harley museum. I will bring Pickled eggs. LOL Sabercat we need to hook up to. Isn't JD great!
