Pickled Eggs

Ooo sounds like great additions to the recipe, can't wait to hear how they are!

Tried one today, I think they need 1 more week to reach prime. The onions are great, eggs need more time. My goal is to duplicate the bar in Mass City that is across the street from Chancies Hardware (frat house). Those are the best I ever had. Willing to pay top dollar for the recipe they use. I will have them in a store near you if I every get it. The store bought picked eggs are Horrible. I will try another tomorrow. I have 5 left and am in a comfined space (boat). so sampling is limited.

I have noticed them floating in jars on the shelves of some old bars in Wi. And thought the looked disgusting. Like a jar of eyeballs next to the pigs feet.

But after reading this I definately have to try them, at least if I make them I'll know what's in it. I'll let you know in 2 weeks.

Made them at lunchtime, not much work to do today. I followed your recipe, except I used Cider Vinegar (what I had here). 12 eggs and that recipe filled a quart jar near perfectly.

Hopefully I did it right.

mrsrunningbear,
I'm trying your recipe. I just have one question. Do you refrigerate them after the vinegar mixture cools?

Nope you leave them out a dark cool spot is best and I would add the 1tsp of pickling spice like pr1 did I think that was a good addition to the recipe. This recipe is war time so I'm thinking they didn't add spices back then

They are aging to perfection!!! I may have messed up and refrigerated after pickling solution cooled down. I suspect this slowed down the pickling process. Remember I don't have a clue to cooking anything, but I can sure brew Beer!! Well up until the explosion anyways.

The eggs are perfection. follow my recipe. Know I need to pick a name for them. They market them. This venture was conceived by some eggs at a bar in Mass City. I need a name for them. No I am not sending out samples. lol

Sorry! I was reeling in the glory! Thank You Mrsrunningbear, your royalty checks will soon follow my first large store order! It looks like the cider vinigar and pickling spice brought the project to life. I am down to 1 egg.
