Polaris edge/M-10 vs IQ for trail riding

I had an edge and an IQ (Fusion but same suspension). IMO - IQ is hands down better to ride on trails. It takes a bit of getting used to coming off an edge but I wouldn't go back.

I have a 07’ IQ touring 600 (m10 136”). It trail rides fantastic. The only gripe I have is the m10 adjustability is very weight sensitive. And using a wrench adjusting your skid packed with snow and ice is a pain. I leave it in middle weight setting. It’s probably too stiff for my son or wife riding solo, but with both of them together it’s perfect. The chassis is fantastic, less rider forward then my skidoos.its really comfortable

JEEZUS...a 2008-2010 Vector can't be beat on the trails and is in that price range....Apex's are out there too. Buy a s.hit 2 stroke...yes they are ALL sh.it, of that same era and worry about getting home or get a Yamaha 4 stroke and never look back.....Easy decision.

Another quality response.
Whats yur problem with my response?
That whole era of EPA compliant 2 strokes were shi.t time bombs...live and learn with your limited budget,,,,many are seeking your $$$ to take there shi.t 2 strokes off their hands....keep walking in that direction....LMAO!

Different strokes for different folks. Couldn’t pay me to ride a vector or apex, seating position is equivalent to 1977 Kawasaki Invader. (My bro I law has one and I have ridden it a lot). Just cuz it’s a 4 stroke doesn’t make better. Why don’t they make them anymore? Want a 4 stroke buy a cat or doo in a non obsolete chassis.

Keep parroting yur nonsense about yamahas.
BTW ...who the fak would pay you to do anything?...hmmmm?
I have out ridden every 2 stroke in our groups for years on end. ...and then after that they blow up at a lousy 2k, 3k, 4k, 5k, ...some make it to 6k where my 4 strokes finally develop full HP....LMAO....Keep wasting your low budget coins on shi.t sled 2 strokes.

Slow night at the trailer park I guess.

Obviously you can't read. My comment was about Yamaha's chassis being outdated. Not a 2s vs 4s argument . Get a life snobuilder

I can agree here...if someone is going to buy a turd old style Polaris chassis with a 2stroke..might as well get a turd Yamaha 4 stroke- same old style chassis. The folks I ride with- we don’t allow an older 2 stroke to come on our trips..we just can’t risk it. Last time we allowed an older Polaris 2 stroke it seized halfway across Lake Gogebic...

Hey guys, still on the hunt for a used trail sled. I have owned a Polaris with the edge suspension since 2001. I have been looking at 2003 to 2005 sleds with the M-10 suspension and also sleds several years newer with the IQ suspension. Again, this is for trail and lake riding. Wondering if it is worth spending the extra money to jump into the IQ models for the type of sledding I do. Would love to hear your thoughts in the IQ suspension.

Thanks

Here you go.... modern chassis with a FI motor that is just broken in. The heart of a Sidewinder.

...I've seen this sled run....very nice.

Don't "saddle" him with the worst handling sled on the face of the planet....'09 Nytro. I don't dislike you, but that's not responsible.

Getting back to the start- 10 years ago when the M10s were popular they were a pretty good suspension for the time. They were pretty plush compared to what was out there then. But they had their drawbacks. Finicky to set up. Inside ski lift as has been mentioned. They were speed scrubbers as in a loss of about 10 mph on top end. And lastly they were expensive to rebuild. But 10 years ago they were popular and a lot of people liked them. But we have better options now. Also whatever color you decide to get if I were you I would get a 600 class sled. Doo and Pol both had and still have indestructable 600's. There are so many posts on the larger displacement sleds and dependability issues and everything else. If you just want to go out and ride and not have to worry about anything go the 600 route. You will be happier IMO.

One things for certain, the internet can make or more likely BREAK a sled with parroted negative comments by the non owners...The new Poolaris 850 is doomed already by the loudmouthed ch*talkers on the net.
On a positive note you 2 stroke owners with the 10-15 yr. old sleds sound like you'd rather sit home with a blowed up engine than be riding worry free on a Yamaha 4 stroke for the same money....SMH....more room on the trails for me I guess....LOL

As far as a m-10 vs IQ....wasn't the M-10 used primarily on the trailing arm Poos vs. the IQ stepping up to the first Poo a-arms?
Never owned the IQ unless it is the same front end set-up that was on my '13 Indy but I'd have to think it was a huge step forward in a new chassis....Indy handled great and worth any extra ching over some ancient gen2 or edge chassis, even with the M-10. Only thing the trailing arm chassis might have is the lower CG in the woods trails....One warning...... once you elevate yur ride you will probly not go back down to the pre revolution.
