Another American company moving busniess to Mexico, what a sad day for us all, when will America wake up and realize how important these jobs are to our economy, and to us all. I have never owned a Polaris sled but do a Polaris ATV and I like it,but this info makes me very unhappy.

No more Poo for this guy, I own an '09 800, that in itself was enough to convince me that I'm done with Poo. The fact that they are moving a portion of their operation to Mexico just solidifies it even more. I don't care if it's just part off their atv division or not, sooner than later their whole operation will be out of the USA. This whole outsourcing thing is gonna backfire. Who can afford to buy the product when the jobs in this country are leaving at such a rapid pace? It's gonna be interesting to say the least.

no way

I lived in osceola wi for 6 years, All great people there, I feel sorry for them, It's not only going to hurt the people working for polaris but the hole town of like 2500. I hate the new ceo for doing this. He makes mills and does not care about the middle class people.

Man does this all sound familar. I'm in manufacturing and when I read that release I picked up on all the "buzz words" we constantly hear in the industry, core, strategic, etc. As for delivery being better from Mexico, yeh sure, I see it first hand every day and there is so much corruption to get things done down there.

From my understanding Osceola was mainly an engine plant making the Liberty engine, I'm sure you guys can all remember when most of the POL engines where Fuji. I'm pretty sure there is still a company in Manitowoc that makes the ATV engines (at least the case maybe not assembly), Mercury Casting Co supplied the 2 halves. I know this as we made tooling for it but it has been a couple years tho.

This is a big blow to us again and does not seem to get any better. I have been in manufacturing all my life and have loved "making" thing as I believe that someone has to make something in order for an economy to grow and stand on its own. Thing is it has been so ugly in manufacturing I have considered my next job to NOT have ANYTHING to do with manuf. and this bugs me as I thought I would never say that...

Polaris made more then engines there, they made and welded a lot of ATV and Snowmobile
parts and ship them to Roseau Minn to put them together. From what I heard that the engines only are going to be made in mexico. then the welding and parts mading is going to be split to Roseau and Spint Lake.

From what I heard the upholstery and some of the metal stamping will be sold off and out sourced. The 2 strokes snowmobile engines production will go to Roseau. Side by sides and their engines will move to Mexico. They are looking to have the capability to produce ATV’s at all of their facilities. They are keeping Victory at Spirit Lake and sled production in Roseau. I am sure all of this is subject to changes at any moment.
