Back in the late 60's and early 70's our headlights went out regularly. We always loved to ride on full moon nights, sometimes even shutting our headlights off if they were working (they had on/off switches back then). We would ride for hours without lights.

Hmm doesn't sound too fun LOL I like to let er fly at night can always tell when ricky racers coming around the corner! That is if he has a working headlight LOL

I remember a few nights like this, actually quite fun! Of course, there were no trails back then either......

I have HIDs on my rzr. Hi/low beams, hi is halogen, low is HID. Slimline ballast mounted near the front tires. They get wet, muddy, rocks bouncing off of them every ride. Work fine.

That said, I came across a guy with HID on his sled last year. It was unbearably bright on the snow. He knew he was blinding people and actually stopped off the side of the trail while we passed.

If you are gonna go with HIDs on snow, please do everyone else a favor and use the 35 watt lights and please aim them down. Unless of course you use projector lenses. Non projector lenses don't contain the light and it scatters all over. Projectors will actually let you see farther.
