I have a 550 2006 supersport polaris it is so hard to [start] turn over when temps are below 10. Took it in to polaris dealer was told that is the way they are... Was that bs or can some one tell me different..

First of all, electric start or pull cord?

What is your definition of hard to start? It takes a couple of pulls or 10+?

Generally any internal combustion engines are not happy to start in near zero temps.

1) The night before, use the (full) choke to kill the engine, not the kill switch. The additional fuel thins the oil on the cylinder wall and makes it a LOT EASIER to start in the morning.

2) If you're not using SYNTHETIC oil, try it. It makes for easier pulling over, especially on cold mornings.
