Considering it was under $10 at times in 2009, this has been an incredible run for the company. They must be doing something right. They raised their profit forecast again today...

They filed the new 1000cc engine with the EPA today. I'm sure that's creating a bit of a buzz.

The earnings came out this week, which apparently drove the latest uptick. I read the transcript to the earnings release. Almost zero discussion about snowmobiles. They did mention the 2Q is the slowest for snowmobiles (obviously), so maybe the snowmobile discussion is in other quarters. But clearly it's the other segments driving the company these days. Still, as long as snowmobiles don't turn into money losers, I can't imagine them walking away. If nothing else, it keeps their customers from stepping into another dealership for an ATV. Plus I think sled sales are increasing - just mainly outside North America.

No question Polaris knows how to make money.

Yes they do. They are also lowering the prices on the Indian bike line to bring in us guys who are on the fence of buying one.

Very highly doubt Poo would walk away from sleds & understand what they are doing with the Indy just not seeing the bridge product to future sleds. Poo might have it but their history is to milk just like the wedge.

Indy market probably not saturated yet could be ok for a year or 2. Always improving RMK good there & Assault ok too. Need to improve 800 2s engine huge hole in line up for performance 4s & economy 4s sled engines. High end 600 & 800 trail sleds pro ride platform old in tooth need something new. 4s & high end 2s trail sleds is where I see complacency but Poo might have something just not evidnet in currnet lineup.

I agree there were good and bad sleds, every manufacturer has them. But, obviously, snow makes all the difference in the world with sled sales. If you go back and put the good and bad snow years with those sleds, there is probably a lot of similarities.

This is why Polaris does a lot of other things, and they do them well. Just ask almost anyone in CA which side by side is the best, and has been for years. Yup, the RZR.

The Indy sells like crazy outside North America, or at least I read that on the internet somewhere. Trail sled market is stagnant here - that's probably why they are focused on mountain sleds and on sleds for other markets...unfortunately, they are thinking beyond just what I want.
