How many times are you guys going to have this debate?

at least 46 more times, Like Cuzz said! :) I think Cuzz is bucking for a compliment on how well he "Guided" us around Mass City. I do give him credit for getting my entourage the VIP room at Henry's.

Google Earth and my Garmin GPSMap60 that's all the guide I need. People never believe us when we tell them we ride till we are at a 1/2 tank then pull out the GPS and figure out where the truck is!

Until the battery goes dead. been there. The point is your on Vacation. why add stress to it? if it works for you fine. I just want to enjoy. my Lowrance works fine and the guide can use it to his hearts content. Why? cuzz I am on Vacation and not here to work.

It is an estimate... but based on 4.

These are Andy's figures in a recent email about our Snowies trip.

$150.00 travel fuel (2000 miles/10 miles per gal = 200 gal x $3.00/gal = $600/4 = $150.00)
$150.00 lodging ($120/night + tax = $150.00? x 4 nights = $600/4 people per cabin = $150.00 each)
$ 50.00 food (meals in, and budgeted)
$ 90.00 sled fuel (10 gal/day x $3.00/gal x 3 days = $90.00)

Where do you stay in the snowies?

CUZZ and FGS we gotta ride out dare together dudes....HOOSIERSMIT i have guided and just rode out west for about 15 years or more now and heres some pro and cons i know of....one if you take your own sled you will have a better time in and around the BITTERROOT RANGE when you launch outta LOLO HOT SPRINGS MONTANA RESORT.....a short tracker can go all over that area just fine and its step and deep as well with a good amount of trails with switchbacks and 3000 foot inclines to run down at 100mph.....you can access IDAHO too up at LOLO PASS.....many hidden areas and technicle stuff thats not been all marked up and is untouched....

then theres ISLAND PARK....you can take your short tracker there too but you start to find areas that you need a 2" paddle track but it can be done with some finesse....little steeper and deeper but in this area avalance increases greatly and i would study the terrain and avalanche warnings thouroughly before getting there.....lots o fields to run in and some sweet ravine climbs.....

YELLOWSTONE.....we used to ride to WILD BILL HICKOCKS hunting shack at night on the other side and spend the night there....going through SYLVANS PASS is the bomb....army dudes launch mortars before you go through....nothing like explosions anouncing LARUE'S LOGGERS coming through....great area as long as you just skirt the parks boundaries....many fileds and jumps and rivers to blast across along with huge hills steep and deep like LIONS HEAD and all those....marked up alot...people ever where so we perfer nightime but its super risky with animals and blizzards....

i know alot more places and will give ya da run down when i get time but theres a couple o places to consider....the FORT AT LOLO and casino and people are tops in my book.....thats number one dude....look it up....ill take ya's if ya wants.....yo BROTHER BREEZE.....here he is outside o LOLO heading up on the highway to LOLOPASS....this is what im a talking about

its like beer....you never know if you like it TILL YOU TRY IT!!!!I cant believe i commented on this subject as its a dead horse some will some wont....all i can say is do your self a favor find a guide sometime and at best get a LOCAL to take you out.......then call me and tell me how you dont like it....bwhahhhahahah

YO HOOSIER.....do you like hillclimbing or racing around? there are different kinds of western sledding....hill climbing you go down the trail slowly and when you see a huge incline to the left or right you either skid sideways on trail....which the other side usually has a 3000 foot drop off your doing this on the edge of.....and WOT up the wall and onto the incline dodgeing trees and jumping humps till you get to the next fire road....you then gotta decide to jump up on road and stop....or.....WOT and jump that road and on up another level......level after level.....or you get to the switchback and just go straight on up at that corner whilst the trail does a 180 and continues downward.......or

you can race up and down switchbacks at blazzing speeds with a cliff off of either elbow while doing 70MPH towards a 180 switchback....did i mention that sometimes there is only enough room for a goat or to hug the wall and traverse the cliff on top of a house sized overhang.....then you spot a ravine relatively tree free and you go up it while going up and down each side of ravine while climbing or decending.....those are really cool....you can be climbing a ravine for 5000 feet while going WOT as you go up the steep side you do 50....then you go 45 degrees and are going down the ravine face while climbing doing 100MPH....what a rush.....each side of the ravine you can highmark trees at the top and turn down again.....ITS A FREAKIN BLAST....so i dont get what FIRECATGUY is saying about callin em and tellin em it wasnt no fun

there is so much to do out west its not even funny.....just remember this ONE ADVICE HOOSIER.....its 101 out west....

NEVER...EVER....GO BELOW THE LAST FIREROAD

.....its usually a 1000 foot drop off into a river......YIKES....

Now wait a minute................. "Guys" was aimed at Cuzzinolaf and Fgsacts. I owe them a guide because of adventures that they have lead me on in the past. (Mass City and Sturgis SD).

Let's see what happens this spring Wayne. I would be more than happy to pitch in for a guide. Never used one before but all you guys and TRD talk so highly of Carter I had to put riding with him on my bucket list, lol.
