I have a change to buy a Raider Snowmobile fairly cheap, so I'm thinking of buying it as a vintage fixer upper, from the pictures I've been sent it looks in really good shape. So I'm asking has anyone else owned or delt with one of these sleds? are parts easily found? Ect.....just getting others 2 cents. Thanks.

and u better have a good back.
really unless u are in to a sled for the fun of restoring always better off buying one done. they are never worth 1/8th of what u dumped in after finished .
only vintage really worth restoring and not loosing your shorts is a vintage racer that u can track its history then dump away .

I wouldn't pass it up she looks clean. My uncle has a few in the shop up north lets all the kids ride them during Christmas but x2 on being broken a lot. He has way more into them than we could ever get out of them that's for sure..

It looks really nice, go for it. No one gets into Vintage sleds without knowing they are going to cost you money. If you like the sled and are not afraid to spend money on it, do it. Vintage sleds are a growing sport, and us Vintage sled nuts love it.

I have one, 74 double eagle and it is a freaking blast, I love it.
my body is all beat up from other things and have had back surgery, and it doesn't bother me a bit and we ride them wide open, Ha 40-50? mph, we have done 80 - 100+ mile rides. its a whole different experience, its more like go-carting. of course you would have more fun with other raiders, or vintage rides.

There was one for sale in the UP north of Hancock on the side of the road 2 weeks ago. Not sure how much.
