Covid cases rising on 1st wave has me thinking of forecasted Fall/Winter 2nd wave and snowmobiling. Restaurants and eateries including indoor dinning of fast food is still closed in the Milwaukee Metropolitan area. What dinning is available in the Wi Northwoods and the UPMI? We need you for a successful snowmobile season!

Around Vilas it's hit and miss. Some places are back to normal, some are carryout and outdoor eating, and there are others who still have not opened up.

So starting Monday you need to wear a mask inside Starbucks. Tell me, how does one drink coffee while wearing a mask. Just asking for a friend.

Murtaughs Pub all u can eat fish fry in Minocqua
Pizza Ranch buffet in Rhinelander

Buffets are served to you by servers. All chinese restaurants have take out as well in Mincoqua.

For sledding purposes we still have 5 months to go before go time. Hopefully this is all just a memory by then.

I have been worrying about this also. Was in the U.P. at the end of march riding and it sucked not being able to go in bars /restaurants to eat or drink. I hope this crap is over with before the snow flys!!

Had not considered this aspect of potential impact it could have on riding. Yeah, you can carry eats... But sure is nice to get out of the elements for a bit and have a warm meal!!! Unfortunately I think in 5 months we will still be dealing with this in one way or another. Hopefully our trail stops are open, but can you imagine if they have to operate at 50% capacity? That could get interesting real quick when 75+ riders show up to your door and want in!!!!

Means that if they are still at 50% capacity weekends will be be a bear, and early week riding will be the cats meow.

I was wondering if I was the only one with this concern? It is a big deal to have an eatery to take a break , have meal and drink , check on everyone to see if the trip plan holds up? Always many alternative routes and good to hear your buds opinions regarding the rest of the ride. It would be awful to lose some of our most enjoyable pit stops.

I brought this up a few months ago. One of my favorite stops in N MN already closed, another said they were die-hards, and will be there next winter no matter what. I had them charge $50 on my card, and told them to spend it on themselves. There are a dozen or more places I like to count on, so it would be pretty hard to help everyone out like that. Its not much, but I thought I would do what I can to help out since I rarely make the trip in the summer months.

When this is all done there will be less restaurants all over. I read somewhere that 2 in 5 will never re-open. It is a tough business to begin with. Places are designed with square foot and seating capacity all part of the equation. These places are already built and to operate at 50% doesn't cut it. Take out and pick up orders generate no tips. Bars also need to be full to make money. For years bars and grills have been dreaming up ways to get more people in to their establishments. Social distancing and everything that goes with it is contrary to bars and grills. Big or small. If they owe money on them they are likely history.

I was curious too how the season will be with stops, especially with the way things are trending and how the so called "experts" are trying to scare the daylights out of everyone once again, plus we will be in the "flu" season at that time and curious how the world will react then. But first and foremost my concern is not about the stops but the people who have their livelihood behind them their make or break season is just as short as ours, hopefully the world will come to their senses and as grub put it "will all just be a memory then" First besides the covid we have to get through November and depending on which way that goes, things could get much worse. But I hope for the operators and owners of all our favorite stops that they are and will be here to stay.
