Are hotels and lodges going to be allowed to be open at full capacity? could potentially see this being an issue as well....possibly?

It will be interesting to see what is "allowed" - personally, I say just let any business decide for themselves, but what ever at this point.

The hotel in N MN I stay at most frequently because of its central location to many trails is still operating at full capacity, so hopefully that continues.

We've stayed at hotels about 15-20 nights since this started in various states. None have had any capacity restrictions for rooms. Some had pools open, some closed. Buffet breakfast weren't open. Go down and get a bag with muffins and bananas, etc. Hotel restaurants were open with distancing.

Though have not stayed in MI.

Talked to a businessman in Eagle River today. Said most local residents holing up don’t want contact with summer folks will wait them out. I was afraid of this reaction and with liberal unemployment compensation no motivation to go back to work as well so no one available to work small business. UGH ...this is all getting long in the tooth and I sure hope it changes come Fall and Winter because the Northwoods has white gold and it would be a shame to waste it.

Hate to say it but if things dont open up we wont be coming up on any of our trips (3 planned as of now), hopefully things get back to normal after the election no matter who wins. And just a little info, 2 local people had appointments for a COVID test, neither one went, both got letters 3 days later saying they tested positive. I dont really care what side of the isle you're on, thats messed up.

Agreed!! has gone way too far!! Just hope this doesn't take its toll on the Northwoods white gold season, doubt many could survive, fingers crossed for them!

Yep wifes cousin called in with symptoms and they told her to come get tested. She never went. Got a call 2 days later that her test came back positive... When she told them she never got tested they hung up on her. WTHe double hockey sticks is going on here?????

I can add to this list. My moms friend went in for a test just this past Monday, filled out some paper work and looked at the line and said forget it. Next day she gets a call, you guessed it, she's positive!! Never swabbed or anything.

To those who got positive results for tests that were never performed, be sure you call the clinic or where ever and get that erased. If you don't, and you need to actually go in for something else, you WILL get put with the Covid patients, because you now have a positive test on your chart.

So tempting to get political again. But I'm not going to do it. Not hard for anyone with a brain to see what is going on.

like the riots not being about race the reaction to the virus is no longer about the virus. This is messed up and not going to get better before the election. This is political and much bigger than most of us even realize. I hope I'm wrong but this is going to come to a head soon, in fact I'm surprised it hasn't already. Maybe the re-opening process delayed it but if more Shutdown 2.0 starts happening beyond the left coast the unfortunate but necessary response will happen. Can't get much more into that due to the "no political" comments.

I'm really concerned about this country. I want to be able to be talking about sled chit chat but it's hard with this going on.

The average democracy historically lasts on average 200 years. Ours has lasted 44 years past that average. Also most democracy s are destroyed from within. It is pretty obvious that our electoral process no longer functions given our last decade or so of selections. Interesting times.

I honestly don't think it will. I have spent a lot of time in the Northwoods this Spring/Summer and all of my favorites have been open. Its not 100% the same but it sure beats whats going on in IL.

I'm also not seeing what Whitedust mentioned about the locals wanting to wait out the summer folks. Maybe the above 60 crowd......

I also have been in northern wi many times during this, and the ones that are closed are done for good. Ones that are open seem to be just making ends meet. If it continues at this pace, or gets worse, I think there will be a second wave of closings. Bars and restaurants have people in them, just not the summer crowd you normally see.
