Similar thing happened to our German Shepard. Kids grew up with him same as you. It is a terrible thing. As has been stated you will always have the memories. Doesn't help much now though. Feel bad for you but time has a way of helping. Good luck.

Sorry for your family's loss. Tomorrow morning, you need to fill Ollies dish with cereal and partake in a hearty breakfast. At the regularly scheduled time of course!

Your thread just tore my heart out Lenny. Our 13.5 yr.old black lab Lucy is slowing down now. She looks a lot like Ollie . Real sorry for your family loss.

Sorry to hear Lenny. It sucks losing pets, but she was obviously living a great life with your family. Take comfort in knowing that you guys were her everything. Hard to see 'em go that fast, but at least she didn't suffer thru an illness. Dogs are awesome!!

"rescuer", our last two were from a shelter and we enjoyed every minute.

We went thru that two years ago. It really sucks. Sure was/is nice to have the support from everybody on this site. As others have said; time helps to heal. If you can, rescue another lost soul.
