Nice setup! I'd love to have a kicker motor for trolling heavier water or if nothing else, a backup. I have a Suzuki for a main motor but the rocks don't seem to care much about brand names.

thats true for the 150, however many other horsepower ranges the 4 strokes have caught or passed the e-tecs in weight

Normally I don't care about weight but in this case I wanted to keep 150 weight minimal for long distance towing going thru moutains + I didn't want to fool around with oil & filter changes from boat lifts either. I could make my 2s oil bottle pouring easier by adding a floor spout but ok stock ...a little ackward now but I don't need to add oil very often so live with it. Yamaha makes great outboard engines just not best for my boating application.

so we only go heavy 4st on the sled. just to much weight for the boat?

Yeppers sled weight doesn't matter much to me on trails with eps & always gets me home...TN mountains are killers for me in 95 degree heat & Ranger trailers are outstanding trailers just too much for my truck weighted down with with 6 weeks of stuff & boat. Don't get me wrong yamaha outboards are great engines just 150 etec was better for my application & very mature trouble free tech in outboards. To me outboards are the way to go with boats don't need the hassles of automotive engines been there done that. Push button & winterization done with etec.
