Hey John,

I like the outlook!

Have you ever did some statistics on your outlooks at the end of the season to see how accurate you have been? Just curious

I have not done anything real thorough, but have saved all of the previous years and looking back I have been "in the ballpark" most years, but there are always areas that do not cooperate! :)

I think though that overall, the general idea of my thinking seems to pan out in most cases.

John, I'll take your "ball park" predictions over the local forcaster's any day of the week and twice on Sunday. Keep up the good work and thank you for the work you do.

John you caught my attention when you said the lake was a little below average as far as the temp of the lake..
I know last year was not that warm at all but this year it seemed like we had several days over 90°.
I know the talk with all the locals is that we are going to get pounded this winter because the lake ...Must..be very warm.

On the south side...isn't Lake Michigan much warmer than normal???

Still buming about the big lakes temp...later Jay

The source I look at has it at 47.2 and average for this date is 51.2.

Lake MI is at 55.8 vs. the average of 57.2.

These are lake wide averages.

Thanks John!

I always get depressed after the harvest and tillage are finished. This site gets me reved back up for the winter. Watching storms and playing in the snow are so exciting!

For me it is a roller coaster this time of year. Fall gets me in such a good mood, the harvest, the colors, the chill in the air. Then the gap between snow, and the all the colors, is a dead, barren, grey blah. Throw in Thanksgiving for some holiday fun, then back down to blah until snow or Christmas, whichever comes first. Think snow, so we all can stay happy.
