600 meets next 2016 EPA mandate 800 does not still too dirty. Overall if you don't need 800 160ish HP go with 600. Doo cutting very good deals on 800 non currents so that has be considered as well.

A price of $9200 seems pretty good but I haven't actually been at dealers or on the phone working a final price. If that is "out the door pricing", better or as Whitedust said,,,, buy it !

I have a 600SDI (first sled) and an 800. Both are great rides. I used to think I did not need or want a large cc engine but I was offered a test ride on the actual 800 I own, and I was "hooked". But that is just me. I rode a basic 600 Sport (rental) this season and it hauled. I was impressed. So both ARE fast.

One word of info is the 800 (mine is non-elec start) can pull a little hard on starting. However, mine is a carb and you are looking at the Etec. Possibly a world of difference. Other Etec owners can confirm that for you.

Good luck with your decision and purchase.

That's a little more than I was quoted for a 2013 GSX SE 1200 out-the-door. Don't know what an 800 would be as I didn't ask, but I guess it can't hurt to call. If you're interested PM me and I'll send you the dealer's name.

I purchased the 600 with e start for 8625 plus tax, I'm also think of getting the 800 as well, they have zero down, zero payments until jan 1st. the 800 is 9225 plus tax. I figure I can sell my other two sled and pay for one and then come up with the money for the other one by jan. Do you guys know of any issues with the 800s

I don't think you can go wrong with either one. I had the chance to ride both a 600 and 800 this year, both very good motors! The 600 has plenty of power, but that 800 was a noticeable difference when you were going about 40 and hammered it. The 800 seemed to almost have a slight "turbo lag", but then it hit and hit very hard!! I myself don't need the 800 anymore, so I have a 600 Adventure. It all depends on how you ride. Good luck!

If you ride in high elevation, get the 800. If you are riding below 4000 feet, get the 600 and save fuel. I have a 600 etec backcountry and I can't once think of a time when power was an issue.

So you're saying you paid less than that for next years 1200 GSX SE? Wow, well done!

Who cares about 2016...
Live now and buy that 800 etec. I have the 800 etec Freeride and it is just a kickass sled. Rode in MI, MN, and Wyoming this year and it rocked... Love the sled! I got just as good as mileage as my brothers 600 etec and crushed any carb 800. My last sled was a Rev 800r. One pull anytime...unless kill button was on..... ;-)
