On November 5th the Annual Membership Meeting of Mi-Trale will be holding elections for the President and board members at Twillys in Bruce Crossing at 7pm. If you are a Mi-Trale member in good standing please come and support Skip as President. Skip has done some amazing things to support ORV riding in the UP and we have some very important issues in the works. Those of you that know me, know I speak the truth. At present Skip is working with Lansing to get a couple pilot projects to allow ORVs to ride along state highways in certain situations. This could be huge for the UP if the pilot works out. Imagine a east to west ORV trail in the UP. Please come and support Skip.

Thanks Tom. This is quite a SURPRISE! I just hope we can get a lot of Mi-TRALE members that know how much I LOVE ALL Motorsports, the ORV Sport, and love the group that I formed in July of 2001...Mi-TRALE. I'm not comfortable in asking for help...but now I need help. Help in the form of Mi-TRALE members coming to Monday Night's meeting and voting to re-elect me as President of Mi-TRALE.

Here's the rule posted on the Home page regarding these types of posts:

No posts with Religious or Political viewpoints. I am religious and political too, but these are two topics almost certain to offend, so it's just best to avoid them in this forum.

So with that said, this offends you how?

Because it is a very heated election believe it or not and should not be brought into this forum

Not sure how mrsrunningbear has construed this as political viewpoint. Political viewpoints are usually associated with the political parties such as Democrats -vs-Republicans. Federal -vs-State etc. etc. If you go to the top of the forum section even John Dee himself is asking you to e-mail letters to to the Government officials in reference to Togwotee area closings.

I am a supporter and member of Mi-Trale, and if it were not for Skip Schultz there wouldn't even be a Mi-Trale.

Something going on if Mrs RB says so. Mrs RB always honest. What if every club came on here & said blah blah elect so in so because this & that. I agree & would delete this post not in line with JD rules.

Well I have been sitting with my mouse pointer over the "delete thread" button for a while now and am torn as to if I should delete it. It seemed to start out innocently enough in my eye, I did not even know there was an election for Mi-Trale president and thought it was just an innocent plug.

Obviously there are other issues going on here that most of us do not know about. I think it would only be fair that those issues be brought forward in an honest and respectful way and then let a respectful debate happen on the issue(s). If it turns out that folks cannot be respectful, then the post will pulled.

No debate on my part, just thought it was kinda funny it could stay on here.

There is a good membership and they will vote, some will be happy some won't but we are all adults and that is politics, whoever gets elected will do a great job for the club

also just so you know I am not running for president

Good choice, John, I agree that if it doesn't turn into bashing I'm interested in hearing what happens. Any form of motorsports needs all the help it can get and Skip has put in years of work for all forms. He deserves an honest shot.

I have been a absent member of Mi Trale for several years now and will not drive 120 miles to vote when I do not know whats going on. I do know that Skip has worked very hard for the sport and I hope the new candidate is willing to work harder but those are big Shoes to fill.

The bad part of this is, when we had the same situation here in the Harrison Hills Club a few years ago we lost a third of the Club after the election. Lets hope that dosen't happen to Mi Trale.

Sorry John I did not think anyone would view this as a political issue. I did not make up lies or even point out issues about the other person running for president. Don Helsel is the other person running and he has done a lot of good things for Mi-Trale also. And I am sure he would do a good job. I was trying to spark some interest on the form about the club. ezra is right, these are all thankless jobs. Without the snowmobile and ORV clubs where would we be able to ride?

The snowmobile clubs are well established and the economic boost they add to our communities is essential. But the ORV clubs are just starting to open the UP to tourism dollars. We need more people to get involved with us to open more trails. It is a beautiful place here in the UP. Sure would be nice if we had trails to enjoy more of it.

It's a farewell to Skip, and as earlier stated these jobs involve the desire to do what's best for the sport and how to promote it, sometimes they are thankless jobs. But those that want to be involved for what ever reasons do deserve thanks just for wanting to be involved. Our area does depend on tourism and we need to be open to all activities that willl bring people and businesses to our area and hopefully jobs. No one can say Skip's passion for motorsports for our area was not, 1st. on his agenda, he was a black and white person, you either liked him or not, but he had passion. Some times change is good, but then again it can be change, but again thank God we have the rights to have open forums, elections, organizations, and the rights to vote. Yesterday was a great example of how 1 vote can change an out come for a seat, yes 1 vote made a differance for 1 of the positions for Mi- Trale. Sometimes your not happy with the results , but if you voted you know in your heart your vote counted for you and your beliefs and rights. GET OUT AND VOTE, also if your NOT HAPPY with ORV/ATV, snowmobile, ski, walking, or horse trails get involved make a difference. IF YOU CAN SPARK AN INTEREST IN A COMMUNITY FOR OTHER EVENTS SUCH AS ROAD RALLIES, SNOWMOBILE EVENTS,ATV/ORV, MOTORCYCLE anything get involved, if you have time VOLUNTEER to groom, trail clean up, board member, don't just sit back and complain about how things should be, do something in your community or one that you visit. Thank you Skip for your years of service, make a differance keep on Lansing get us more trails through the other clubs your involved in, KEEP THE PASSION!
