These new Ski-Doos are so darn complicated.
Have to ask, what made you decide to buy a Ski-Doo?
Batteries last at least 4 years, why haven't you called your dealer for service after plunking down many $1000's of dollars on 2 new sleds...are you new to this planet?,...I am sure if your new car didn't start when you got it home , you wouldn't seek out a car website for an answer,...right?....seriously, you were bright enough to earn the cash for $ 20,000+++ worth a new toys...what has your dealership said to do?
12v is 12v. Wont hurt it to jump off any sized battery thats 12v. Car, truck, semi, etc.
4 years lol Snowbuddy just put a new battery in the 05 last year and the 08 checked out this year 09 skidoo mounted sideways is still going strong...
No Lenny, that's the truth. Not many of the newer Doos have pull ropes. I couldn't believe it, but it's been that way at least 3-4 years now.
Probably need to be concerned with the amperage. The voltage is not a concern.
Why? Amps are drawn, not pushed. The sled will draw the amperage it needs to start.
How do they rate battery chargers? Amps? Why do they tell you to use a very low amp charger, such as a 1.0 amp, on your ATV, Bike, Snowmobile, ect? There should be a instruction sheet with every new powersports battery showing you how to charge it, for how long, and at what rate of charging to use. 12 volt battery chargers come in many different charging capacities, .25, .5, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0, 5, 10 amp, and on up. Depends on the size of the battery. I watched a guy jump a bike with car. His bike battery blew up like a bomb went off. But to each his own.
